Snakes on a Plane (2006)

Why do I like it? This is either very lazy design or very smart design, not sure which but it works! It seems like a classic image, because it is, its just the caduceus symbol, ok these wings don't have feathers but its so close to be familiar, different enough to be unique. Perfect design, the colours also really work well for the targeted audience. Can you tell I like this poster?

Why do I like it? Subdued colours and grain create an old wartime image. The faces contrasting with the film title just works so well. Nicely done.

Why do I like it? Reminds me of an Erasure album and many similar designs from the 80s. The white stripes however bring it up to date. Also love the colours used and Emma as the focal point helps!
Factory Girl (2007)

Why do I like it? A film with Andy Warhol, this is exactly what you need as a poster - as evocative as a can of soup. Perfect.

Why do I like it? Another 80s design and add teal and you are in the mid to late 80s. The actors involved make this poster however.

Why do I like it? Text used to create a shape, it always works for political messages. The best was the 'Refugee Councils' T-Shirt (England and Ireland made from the names of famous refugee's. Nicely done.

Why do I like it? Although I think they wanted to show the long waiting times. The newspaper reporting the moon landing makes me laugh as the reader could have been on an extreme diet and just waiting thirty seconds - UK waiting rooms are known for having very dated reading matter.

Why do I like it? Lennon glasses! It says all you need to know about the movie.
Nonfictionguy's rating:

Before you see any movie, you will typically experience its poster first, even if its just in the lobby. These works of art/graphic design sometimes give you a glimpse of the movie, a clue as to what to expect. Other times they conceal the truth of the movie, for good cause - because its dire! This list is about the best posters, the ones that grab my attention or ones that stuck with me over time, its not about the quality of the film.
