That's Racist! (Maybe It's Not)

Mr. Yunioshi is not only an Asian stereotype, but is played by a white actor in yellowface. Specifically, he is a Japanese stereotype, but were most of the viewers even able to distinguish between East Asian ethnic groups?

VERDICT: OK, this one is pretty blatant and the accusation is justified. I don't even remember most of this movie, but the Mr. Yunioshi scenes are quite memorable.

Supposedly, this movie is racist because of D-Fens' confrontations with a Korean convenience store manager (What? No Indians? But what about stereotypes?) and some Chicano gang bangers (now that's a stereotype!).

VERDICT: BULLSHIT! D-Fens is a nationalist, not a racist. In fact, that is made very clear in the movie. Regarding the Mexican gang bangers, there is also the female Mexican cop to balance things. (You ever notice how mexicanos rarely bitch about "racist" movies?) Whoever called this movie racist didn't know what en la chingada he or she was talking about.

Do I really need to explain this one?

VERDICT: MOSTLY BULLSHIT, but with a bit of possible actual racism.
Let's start with my favorite character of the prequels - Jar Jar Binks! He has been labelled a Black stereotype, a Jamaican stereotype, a gay stereotype, who knows what else. I've never seen any of those stereotypes in Jar Jar. Jar
Jar isn't even a stereotypical Gungan! Is it possible that these idiots find these things because they want to see them in the first place?
Then there's Watto, who seems more Arab than Jewish to me - not surprising because Tatooine not only resembles North Africa but the scenes were actually filmed in North Africa.

Now the trade federation creatures. OK, they do seem to represent interchangeable Asian cultures. However, so do the people of Naboo and even Qui Gon and Obi Wan!

Some idiots claimed that Finn (John Boyega) is the comic relief - the new Jar Jar Binks and it is because he's Black.

VERDICT: EXTREME BULLSHIT! It's amazing how this movie drew bitching from ass-clowns of practically every ideology. That's quite an achievement! Kudos, Mr. Abrams.
On the subject of Finn, if he is the comic relief and the new Jar Jar, they did an extremely shitty job. If anything, it looks like the Star Wars universe remains colorblind.

It may seem hard to believe, but there have been idiots who claimed that Machete is anti-white and pro-illegal immigration (as if "illegal immigrant" and "Mexican" are interchangeable).

VERDICT: BULL-PINCHE-SHIT! Robert Rodriguez made it clear that Machete is an homage to the exploitation movies of the 1970's. A lot of people seem to not understand what an exploitation movie is.

The indigenous people in the jungle are evil cannibals so this movie is . . . you know where this is going.

VERDICT: AY, MAS BULLSHIT! This movie attacks privileged white "social justice warriors" as much as it does tribes in the Amazon. Actually, it portrays this group of SJWs as total idiots, which they really are. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that their journey into the jungle is a bad idea.

Some people have called this movie racist because all of the bad guys are Black.

VERDICT: CHOKING FROM A BIG WHIFF OF BULLSHIT! There are Black characters who are bad and those who are good - and they are definitely not buffoons. There is Strutter, who saves Bond in Harlem and there is Quarrel Jr. In fact, the only characters who are idiots are both white - the redneck sheriff J.W. Pepper and . . . Bond himself!

The bad guys are Arab and Muslim terrorists - how stereotypical!

VERDICT: Not actually racist, but very anti-Arab and anti-Muslim. (Note: Arab and Muslim are not the same thing. There are Arabs who are not Muslim and most of the world's Muslims are not Arab - not that the douches who created this care.) What do you expect? It's a typical Chuck Norris piece of garbage. This piece of shit deserves to be called out for what it is - Neocon propaganda/masturbation fantasy.

The portrayals of Indians (and Chinese, to a lesser degree) are very racist.

VERDICT: This time, the accusers are absolutely right. The Indian characters are either evil cultists or weak little superstitious brown people who need big daddy Britain to take care of them. Both the Indian people and the Hindu faith are insulted. However, it should be pointed out that the Indian population did/does have much bigger problems than negative portrayals in a damn movie!

An American family in a fictional Southeast Asian country that apparently is based on Cambodia escapes from a horde of angry Asians. Was it intentional that the Asian mob in the trailers seemed zombie-like?

VERDICT: It does seem racist if you only see the trailers. The movie itself? Not so much.
