Like Louise Brooks, Olive Thomas looks very "now". Very fresh and modern. She was the first wife of Jack Pickford, one of my first silent idols.
I'm yet to see her films, but I've collected a big archive of her photographs.

Shannnooonnn.... oh my. I saw her in 'The Man Who Had Everything' and she stole my heart in the very first scene that she appeared in. She reminds me of Charlotte Gainsbourg. Kind of boyish, very cool.
The Silent Era's rating:
When I was in my early teens I had a film book on permanent loan from the local library. It had loads of pictures of Theda Bara and I read it like some people read the bible. Her make up was flawless and outrageous, the costumes sheer fantasy material.
I never had a big sister, but I used to fantasize about what it would be like to have her as a big sister and Marc Bolan as an older brother because we all look alike.
