Star Wars: Rise of the Empire Era

Sort by: Showing 26 items
Rating: List Type:
From the site of Anakin Skywalker's last stand—on the molten surface of the planet Mustafar, where he sought to destroy his friend and former master, Obi-Wan Kenobi—a fearsome specter in black has risen. Once the most powerful Knight ever known to the Jedi Order, he is now a disciple of the dark side, a lord of the dreaded Sith, and the avenging right hand of the galaxy’s ruthless new Emperor. Seduced, deranged, and destroyed by the machinations of the Dark Lord Sidious, Anakin Skywalker is dead… and Darth Vader lives.
Coruscant Nights, Book 1

Jax Pavan is one of the few Jedi Knights who miraculously survived the slaughter that followed Palpatine's ruthless Order 66. Now, deep in Coruscant's Blackpit Slums, Jax ekes out a living as a private investigator, trying to help people in need while concealing his Jedi identity and staying one step ahead of the killers out for Jedi blood. Others search for the elusive Jax too. Hard-boiled reporter Den Dhur and his buddy, the highly unorthodox droid I-5YQ, have shocking news to bring Jax—about the father he never knew.

But when Jax learns that his old Jedi Master has been killed, leaving behind the request that Jax finish a mission critical to the resistance, Jax has no choice but to emerge from hiding—and risk detection by Darth Vader to fulfill his Master's dying wish.
Coruscant Nights, Book 2

Deep in the bowels of Coruscant, Jedi Jax Pavan seekes out a living as a private investigator; a go-to, can-do guy for the downtrodden. Now a mysterious Zeltron knockout named Deejah approaches Jax with a case that needs to be cracked: to find out who killed her artist lover Volette, brutally murdered hours after his triumphant unveiling of a dazzling new light sculpture with obvious links to lightsaber pyrotechnics.

Finding Volette's killer won't be easy -- too many secrets, too many suspects, and all kinds of motives. But with the droid I-5YQ's help, and ex-reporter Den Dhur's excellent snooping skills, the investigation is soon operating like a well-oiled machine.

Unfortunately, there's a far more efficient machine hunting Jax. It's a deadly game of cat-and-mouse as the clock starts ticking toward the final explosive showdown… to see who strikes first and who will die first.
Coruscant Nights, Book 3

Throughout the galaxy, a captured Jedi is a dead Jedi, even in Coruscant's most foul subterranean slums, where Jedi Knight Jax Pavan champions the causes of the oppressed with the help of hard-nosed reporter Den Dhur and the wisecracking droid I-5YQ. But Jax is also involved in another struggle -- to unlock the secrets of his father's death and his own past.

While Jax believes that I-5YQ holds some of those answers, he never imagines that the truth could be shocking enough to catapult him to the frontlines of a plot to kill Emperor Palpatine. Worse yet, Darth Vader's relentless search for Jax is about to end... in triumph.

The future looming over the valiant Jedi and his staunch pals promises to be dark and brief, because there's no secret whatsoever about the harshest truth of all: Few indeed are those who tangle with Darth Vader and live to tell the tale.
Last of the Jedi, Book 1

The Empire has risen. The Jedi Order has been destroyed. As far as the Emperor is concerned, the Jedi are all but extinct.

But on the remote planet of Tatooine, one Jedi Master remains: Obi-Wan Kenobi. Devastated by the loss of his fellow Jedi—and the betrayal of his former apprentice Anakin—Obi-Wan has been left with one last task: to watch over and protect a young child named Luke.

When Obi-Wan finds out that a former Jedi apprentice has survived, he must make a painful decision: whether to stay on Tatooine or go on one last, desperate mission—right into the heart of the Empire.
Last of the Jedi, Book 2

Who are the last of the Jedi?

Obi-Wan Kenobi is on a mission. Along with the former Jedi apprentice Ferus Olin and a headstrong kid named Trever, he is trying to keep the Jedi's most important secret safe from the inquisitive Empire. With Boba Fett on their trail and time running out, Obi-Wan, Ferus, and Trever must make some daring and desperate escapes…into even more danger.

Along the way, they discover some incredible news: Obi-Wan and Yoda are not the only Jedi to have survived the Emperor's annihilation of the Order. There is at least one other…and he is hiding in the Caves of Ilum, a place where nightmares become reality and dark warnings tell of conflicts yet to come.
Last of the Jedi, Book 3

A disgraced Padawan returns to the captive Jedi Temple on Coruscant to redeem himself. Ferus Olin has heard rumors that the Empire holds imprisoned Jedi within the desecrated building.

Olin and his street-kid partner, Trever Flume, must plunge into the depths of Coruscant's dark and dangerous underworld in order to free the Jedi Knights. The lower reaches of the city planet have become a perilous sanctuary from those fleeing the Emperor's wrath, and navigating its alleyways and corridors may be just as dangerous as a foolhardy mission to breach the temple.
Last of the Jedi, Book 4

Ex-Jedi Ferus Olin has been imprisoned by the Empire. His crime? Trying to save the Jedi Order.

The sinister Empire won't be able to hold Ferus for long—not when he has a friend on the inside. But escaping is only part of the problem. Ferus's quest is going to take him to the planet of Naboo, where a secret vital to the survival of the Jedi and the entire galaxy is being kept…and is in danger of being revealed.

In order to keep this secret, Ferus will have to face the ruthless Inquisitor Malorum. A battle will be fought—and lives will be lost.

Who will die on Naboo?
Last of the Jedi, Book 5

Since evil Emperor Palpatine destroyed the Jedi Knights and seized power, his reign has been absolute. He controls the Senate. He controls the Imperial Army. He controls the galaxy. He is a Sith.

And now, for mysterious reasons, he wants to control Ferus Olin, ex-Padawan.

Ferus does not want to aid the Empire in any way. But when the Emperor threatens the lives of the people closest to him, Ferus doesn't have a choice. He agrees to go on a secret mission for Palpatine—to become a double-agent—and somehow keep his allegiance to the fallen Jedi Order.

Can he succeed? Or are the Emperor and his henchman Darth Vader too powerful to overcome?
Last of the Jedi, Book 6

Years ago, when they were both Jedi apprentices, Ferus Olin and Anakin Skywalker were rivals. Now, their paths are about to cross again…

Abandoning the Jedi Order saved Ferus's life. As a result, he is the only one who can track down and save Jedi who have survived the rise of the Empire. He has rebellion on his mind, and hopes to bring about the fall of the Emperor.

Only Darth Vader stands in his way. Ferus may not realize it, but his old rival is now his new deadly enemy.
Last of the Jedi, Book 7

On the planet Belassa, parts of a secret new weapon are being built by the Empire. Darth Vader and Grand Moff Tarkin are present to make sure the secret stays a secret—and they are joined by none other than the former Jedi apprentice and Rebel leader Ferus Olin.

But is Ferus Olin really on their side? Or is he a double agent trying to save his planet and steal the Empire's plans? Ferus must guard the secret of his own allegiance… or become yet another victim consumed by the dark side.
Last of the Jedi, Book 8

As the Empire's power grows, rebels face a choice: give in… or fight. Some form pockets of resistance on battleground planets. Some go undercover, trying to fight the Empire from within. Others watch and wait.

For Ferus Olin, hatred of the Empire is personal. The things that have been closest to him have been destroyed. The Jedi Order he once belonged to has been decimated. And the future isn't looking much brighter…

Unless a true Rebellion can be born.

Last of the Jedi, Book 9

The planet of Alderaan is a peaceful one…and Senator Bail Organa wants to keep it that way. But the presence of the Empire is starting to cast a shadow over their tranquility—as spies and traitors infiltrate the corridors of power.

Alderaan holds a secret—a secret on which the future existence of the Jedi depends. Under strict instructions from the Emperor, double agent Ferus Olin must both uncover this secret and protect it. What he discovers raises dark questions from his own past—and puts him in direct conflict with another former Jedi…the sinister Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader.
Last of the Jedi, Book 10

When Ferus Olin was a young Jedi apprentice, his rival was a headstrong student named Anakin Skywalker.

Now Ferus is older, trying to save the Jedi Order from extinction. His enemy, however, remains the same. Because Anakin Skywalker is now Darth Vader…and Darth Vader wants Ferus Olin destroyed.

This is their final encounter.

The fate of the galaxy hangs in the balance.
Han Solo Trilogy, Book 1

Han Solo was a child without a past, a Corellian street urchin, abandoned, foraging for scraps of food, when the cruel Garris Shrike whisked him away to a nomadic band of spacefaring criminals.

Now, years later, Han fights his way free. His goal: to become an Imperial Navy pilot. But first he needs hand-on experience flying spacecraft, and for that he takes a job on the planet Ylesia—a steaming world of religious fanaticism, illicit drugs, and alluring sensuality…where dreams are destroyed and escape is impossible.
Han Solo Trilogy, Book 2

Once one of the Academy's brightest stars, Han Solo is now a fugitive from the Imperial Navy. But he has made a valuable friend in a former Wookiee slave named Chewbacca, who has sworn Han a life debt. Han will need all the help he can get.

For the Ylesian Hutts have dispatched the dreaded bounty hunter Boba Fett to track down the man who already outsmarted them once. But Han and Chewie find themselves in even bigger trouble when they agree to lend their services to crime lords Jiliac and Jabba the Hutts. Suddenly the two smugglers are thrust into the middle of a battle between the might of the Empire and the treachery of their outlaw allies…a battle where even victory means death!
Han Solo Trilogy, Book 3

The Millennium Falcon is "the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy." So when Han Solo wins it in a game of sabacc, he and Chewbacca become kings of the smugglers—uncatchable and unstoppable. But with the Empire clamping down, Han knows his luck can't last.

Still, when an old girlfriend who is now the leader of an insurgent Rebel group offers him a shot at an incredible fortune, Han can't resist. The plan seems a sure thing. The resistance will be light and the take enormous.

Han and his friends will divide it equally with the Rebels. Too bad for Han that the planet of Ylesia is far from a pushover, that the Rebels have an agenda of their own, and that smuggler friends can often turn into enemies…quicker than lightspeed.
Lando Calrissian Trilogy, Book 1

Gambler, rogue, and con-artiste, Lando Calrissian was more comfortable at the dealer's end of a fast shuffle than at the rear end of a blaster pistol. So he always had his sensors scanning for the chance to pick up easy credits -- and when he heard that the planets of the Rafa System were practically buried in ancient alien treasure, he hopped aboard the Millennium Falcon, never stopping to think that someone might be conning the con man...
Lando Calrissian Trilogy, Book 2

Lando Calrissian and his tentacled droid Vuffi Raa are off to gamble in the Oseon asteroid belt. But someone is out to get Lando. When he gets arrested by the Oseon police for a mere act of self-defense, the punishment is execution. Lando is offered a deal in which his life will be spared, but he may be in for more than he bargained for.
Lando Calrissian Trilogy, Book 3

For a year Lando Calrissian and Vuffi Raa, his five-armed robot astrogator, had roamed space in the Millennium Falcon, seeking or creating opportunities to turn an easy, but not too dishonest, credit.

But now their partnership seemed doomed—for Lando's uncharacteristic impulse to help a race of persecuted aliens had suddenly made him and Vuffi vulnerable to several sets of their own enemies…not least of whom was the evil Rokur Gepta, the Sorcerer of Tund!

19 BBY - 1 BBY

aka The Dark Times

"The Galactic Empire, also known as the New Order, was the galactic government established by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine to replace the Galactic Republic in 19 BBY and bring Sith rule to the galaxy.

The Republic, which had lasted intermittently for almost 25,000 years, ended following a period of intense political turmoil and the devastation of the Clone Wars. After General Grievous was defeated at the Battle of Utapau, and shortly after the leaders of the Confederacy of Independent Systems were killed on Mustafar by Darth Vader, Palpatine began a purge of the Jedi Order, declared himself Emperor of the galaxy and reorganized the Galactic Republic into the first Galactic Empire."
