Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
Tomatometer Guess : 83%. Early reviews are In, and from the looks of things, this highly anticipated sequel is good, just not as good as the original. Still I'm looking forward to it all the same.
Actual Score : 75%. While not as good or as cohesive as the first Avengers Avengers: Age of Ultron has enough jaw dropping action, humor, and heart to overcome it's overstuffed narrstive and make it a worthy installment in the Marvel Universe and a

Hot Pursuit (2015)
Tomatometer Guess : 65%. If big budget blockbusts aren't your cup of tea, than hopefully Hot Pursuit should be amusing fun ar the movies.
Actual Score : 6%. I don't know what I was thinking with my prediction, if I had known the director of The Guilt Trip was directing this, I would have had this much lower. This is without a doubt the worst comedy I've seen all year so far. The characters are annoying and cliché, the humour is painfully unfunny, and the leads have no chemistry. Despite being only 87 Minutes, I felt like I was in the theater for 87 Hours.

Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)
Tomatometer Guess : 80%. With positive word of mouth, this fourth installment of the Max Series should hopefully bring the Road Warrior back in the spotlight.
Actual Score : 98%. I'm floored, both by how high the tomatometer is and by how entertaining the movie was. Great Action, Beautiful Cinematography, Charlize Theron steals the show as the female lead and Tom Hardy is very good as Mad Max.

JWR's rating:

Slow West (2015)
Tomatometer Guess : 87%. Not much to say about this one other than it looks like a well acted slower paced western in the vein of Once Upon A Time In The West .
Actual Score : 90%.
Actual Score : 90%.
JWR's rating:

Pitch Perfect 2 (2015)
Tomatometer Guess : 76%. The first film was a pleasant surprise, this looks like it will be more of the same.
Actual Score : 68%. If you liked the first Pitch Perfect, you'll like this one as much. It's just as entertaining, witty, and funny as the first.

JWR's rating:

Tomorrowland (2015)
Tomatometer Guess : 91%. Brad Bird returns to deliver a Sci Fi action thriller a la Pirates of The Caribbean. Also, it's refreshing to see a movie with a Utopian future, instead of a dystopian one.
Actual Score : 50%. Boy, was I off with this one. While this tonally uneven and sometimes heady film is Brad Bird's weakest to date, Tomorrowland has enough spectacle and action to make it an entertaining film to watch. I'm hoping that Brad Bird brings his A-Game for The Incredibles 2.

Tomatometer Guess : 86%. In what may be their last film released in US Theaters, Studio Ghibli tells the heartfelt story of a tomboy befriending a mysterious girl.
Actual Score : 84%. It may not be one of Studio Ghibli's best, but it still has an ample amount of heart and imagination that makes it an unforgettable watch.

JWR's rating:

San Andreas (2015)
Tomatometer Guess : 52%. As ususl, The Rock looks charismatic as the hero in what looks like a fun 90's style disaster movie. However, like with many disaster movies, the film may have little to offer outside of cool special effects.
Actual Score : 49%. For better or worse, San Andreas was exactly what I expected, a series of amazing special effects and paper thin characters, if you know what to expect going into the movie, you should find it entertaining.

JWR's rating:

Aloha (2015)
Tomatometer Guess : 82%. Cameron Crowe has been rather hit and miss lately. For every Jerry Maguire, there's an Elizabethtown. However, judging by the trailers and the cast, Aloha could be something of a return to form for Crowe.
Actual Score : 18%. Way way off with this one. The tone is inconsistent, the chemistry between Stone and Cooper is flat, the pacing is horrible, and the plot meanders to much for the movie to be considered entertaining. Huge Disappointment For me.

JWR's rating:

Entourage (2015)
Tomatometer Guess : 48%. Entourage was an example of a show that started fine, but deteriorated in quality later on. Although the movie looks like classic Entourage with the cameos and fake movies, it feels like it came several years too late and will mostly appeal to super-fans of the show.
Actual Score : 32%. It's great to see the guys again, but unfortunately, Entourage Plays out more like a long episode of the tv show rather than a movie. If you're a die hard fan of the show, you'll like it, but if not, wait for a rental.

JWR's rating:

Spy (2015)
Tomatometer Guess : 78%. First reactions from SXSW have been extremely positive, but even if i didn't know that, I'm sold on the nice blend of action and comedy in this Paul Feig film.
Actual Score : 95%. Higher than I expected. I Haven't Laughed this hard since 22 Jump Street, Melissa McCarthy is the funniest she's been in a while, Jason Statham was surprisingly funny, Rose Byrne is a fun villain, and the action is well choreographed and entertaining.

JWR's rating:

Jurassic World (2015)
Tomatometer Guess : 71%. The Jurassic Park franchise has been all over the place in terms of quality, and the trailers have been receiving mixed reactions. But I'm still hoping against hope that director Colin Trevorrow can deliver a worthwhile installment in the series.
Actual Score : 70%. While not as good as the original, Jurassic World delivers on spectacle, action and excitement that 2 and 3 lacked.

JWR's rating:

Inside Out (2015)
Tomatometer Guess : 97%. Initial reactions from early screenings have been overwhelmingly positive and It's easy to see why. Directed by Pete Docter (Monsters Inc. and Up.), this is a movie that could not only end up being one of Pixar's best, but one of the best films of the year.
Actual Score : 98%. I have very little to say other than Inside Out is a wonderful movie. It's colorful, original, timeless, and moving. I highly recommend seeing this in the theater, and would call this Pixar's best since Toy Story 3, and that's no exaggeration.

Dope (2015)
Tomatometer Guess : 92%. For those of you with a soft Spot for 90s culture, comes this indie-flick about Teenagers trying to get out of the drug indusrty.
Actual Score : 90%. A very witty, well acted dark comedy, as well as a unique take on the coming of age story.

JWR's rating:

Ted 2 (2015)
Tomatometer Guess : 62%. Seth McFarlane's career as a director started promising with his Ted, a raunchy, but funny and at times, sweet comedy. Then, he made A Million Ways To Die In The West, a sporadic comedy with more misses than hits. But I'm hoping, praying that he applies the same raunch and heart with Ted 2, but I'm not holding my breath.
Actual Score : 44%. While Ted 2 still has The chemistry between Mark Wahlberg and Seth MacFarlane and some laugh out loud jokes, it repeats several plot points from the first film with minor changes. Had the movie been edited tighter, I would be able to overlook this, but at almost two hours, the movie drags and there are many scenes that lead to nothing. Still, if you liked the first one and you're a fan of Seth MacFarlane, give it a watch...just catch it at a matinee.

Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015)
Note: This is released on June 5.
Tomatometer Guess : 56%. I liked the first Insidious, didn't care for the sequel, and as for this, I could take it or leave it.
Actual Score : 58%. I enjoyed it a little more than I expected. Leigh Wannel does a good job at directing the film and the jump scares were actually effective. A vast improvement over the second.
