Scanners (1981)
He uses alot of body horror / Explicit scenes in such a way that no-one can come *this* close to!

David Cronenberg has done so many memorable body horror scenes that's its hard to choose one. I mean, who can forget the The Fly or the duel in Scanners? or when the tumors burst out in Videodrome?
Every scene is classic!
The Fly (1986)
Arguably the best remake ever done!

This here is another fine example of body-horror. I have seen the original and this film deserves to be ranked higher than the original and it's one of the only handful of remakes i actually love (Ex: Heat, The Mummy etc...)
Way to go Cronenberg, i hope you will do a Creature From The Black Lagoon remake someday! Fingers crossed!

Is going Crime-Thriller on us!

Russian & Irish mobs & gangsters are a hit with GTA and movie directors. Cronenberg is no exception. His 2 crime-thriller movies, Eastern Promises & A History Of Violence have won me over. I've never seen such brilliant, bold directorial skills shown so vividly onscreen.
It shows that Cronenberg is finally making more realistic movies than ever and i hope that he continues on that... One or two more crime-thrillers would be enough!
And oh, one more thing: Make sure it has Viggo Mortensen!

A History of Violence (2005)
Has great taste in choosing the cast!

Cronenberg's decision of putting Naomi Watts as the lead in Eastern Promises is one of the best steps he has ever taken! I loved her performance!
Let's go in order:
Scanners: Michael Ironside & Patrick McGoohan - Enough said!
Videodrome: James Woods as the lead and that's all!
Dead Zone: Christopher Walken, Martin Sheen, Brooke Adams
The Fly: John Getz, Jeff Goldblum, Geena Davis
Dead Ringers: When you have Jeremy Irons in the lead, you need no-one else!
Naked Lunch: Peter Weller, Judy Davis, Roy Scheider
M. Butterfly: Again, Jeremy Irons in the lead!
Crash: Deborah Kara Unger, James Spader, Holly Hunter, Elias Koteas, Rosanna Arquette
eXistenZ: Jude Law, Sarah Polley, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Willem Dafoe, Ian Holm
Spider: Ralph Fiennes in the lead!
A History Of Violence: Viggo Mortensen, Maria Bello, William Hurt, Ed Harris
Eastern Promises: Viggo Mortensen, Naomi Watts, Vincent Cassel
Happy Vader's rating:

The Dead Zone (1983)
Tackled Stephen King... and survived!

One of the best SK silver-screen adaptations and it can be counted in the same league as The Green Mile, Misery & The Mist!
