Worst: Suicide Squad
A huge disappointment. So much potential, but it simply didn't land. The characters largely fell flat, and the plot was messy. Some of the visual elements were good, and I liked the character designs, but overall the film was just a sloppy rehash of a typical superhero flick, even though it was a great opportunity to do something fresh and different.

10. Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn
Also had good visual elements, but I found the plot rather dull. Margot Robbie is a good Harley Quinn, but works better in an ensemble. Also, felt like a bit of waste to relegate characters like Huntress, Black Canary and Cassandra Cain to being side characters.

9. Justice League (Whedon Cut)
Clearly an attempt to just be a rebranded Avengers movie. Certain creative choices (like the side plot about the random Russian family) felt jarring, and some of the effects were really subpar. Still, I enjoyed the team dynamics and getting to see the characters come together.

8. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Director's Cut)
Not as bad as a lot of people make it out to be, but not great either. There were a lot of plot points thrown in, making it kind of feel like it was actually two or three different movies smashed together. Still, the last act was pretty solid, the action scenes were pretty enjoyable, and after seeing the Snyder Cut some of the seemingly pointless plot threads actually make more sense.

7. Wonder Woman 1984
Nowhere near as great as the first one, but was still entertaining. The whole wish plot was kind of cheesy, and having Steve Trevor come back in another man's body was questionable.Still, it was fun, had good action, and I liked the visual style.

6. Man of Steel
Like Batman v Superman, it could be a bit meandering and drawn out at times, but I still overall enjoyed it. Some people complained about the darker, grittier take on Superman, but I actually thought it was an interesting take on the character. Zod worked well as the villain, and the costume and effects were pretty solid. Overall, a good movie.

5. Shazam!
Fun, cute movie. Not as sweeping and epic as other Superhero flicks, but still enjoyable. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Billy and his foster siblings, and literally cheered out loud during the climax. Really excited to see what more they chose to do with the characters.

4. Aquaman
A bit more of a standard Marvel-esque flick than some of the others, but still good. They did a great job of taking a character that's often (incorrectly) thought of lame and making him seem cool. I really like Jason Momoa in the role and Patrick Wilson did good as Ocean Master. I'm hoping future installments bring back Black Manta, too, because I feel like he wasn't used to his full potential.

3. Wonder Woman
I absolutely love this movie. It's amazing to finally see Wonder Woman getting her own movie, and Gal Gadot brings a certain charm to the character that really pulls you in. Diana has a great balance of being badass and yet naive and vulnerable, and she and Steve Trevor had great chemistry. Diana's fighting style is very distinct and enjoyable, and I really liked the underlying messages the movie presents. Overall one of my favorite movies.

2. Justice League (The Snyder Cut)
If a movie can hold my attention for four straight hours, it must be good. Seriously, though, pretty much every issue I had with the original cut was resolved in this one. All the characters were pretty great, and I felt like they had great chemistry as a team. As a comic book fan, there was a lot of fun easter eggs thrown in there, and I was super pumped to get to see Darkseid.

Best: The Suicide Squad
Hands down the best movie in the DCEU to date. It was super fun and unique, and James Gunn's style really works here. The best part was probably the characters themselves, who all managed to be endearing, despite their quirks and dysfunctions. Overall a great cast, great characters, great action...just an absolute blast to watch.
