Leaded on stage by Essex born Sonja Kristina Shaw (of Swedish mom, Lundequist)and in studio by Londoner polystrumentist Francis Monkman (later founder of Sky), Curved Air gained a solid live reputation in early 70's plus a TOP10 hit, Back Street Luv, written by violinist-keyboardist Darryl Way. In 1975 the finally found a stable drummer, ex-colonial Stewart Copeland, the Curved Air influence on Steve's drumming style are quiet evident...listen to Proposition drum intro then Police's Next to You...He ended up marrying the beautiful Katja...

Dudes...be serious...I can't post "Dust in the Wind" or "Carry On Wayward Son", I'm a REAL Kansas fanatic, so one of my fav where Robby Steinhardt sings and plays like Paganini...I hope angels let play your fiddle in heaven Robby !

You know...I was musically formed by PFM and by Prog Rock in general, so why "Luna nuova" (New Mooon) with Lucio Fabbri and not an original Mauro Pagani version ? Lucio surname was "Violino", yes fiddle in Italian, I really like his musical approach, he got rock attitude than musical genius Mauro Pagani, more psychedelic oriented. I've meet Mauro several time, so I can say he's a genious, anyway I didn't like his style, Lucio was not a flautist, gosh...a Prog band without the flute !!! Like ELP...my fav overall...

U.K. was a very gifted band, I can say too much talented...Eddie Jobson was super on violin and on keys, then Allan Holdsworth...John Wetton after King Crimson and before Asia, Bill Bruford or Terry Bozzio, the music was fascinating with Holdsworth maybe too much experimental to my young ears, anyway without Allan and Bruford things get better...my opinion

I love the Northern Man, Italy loved Neil so much and I can remember the heavy airplay of "Comes a Time" in 1978 winter, but still today I can't say if I like the song for the fiddle catchy riff or the beautiful backing harmonies of Northern Woman Nicolette Larson.
Lotta Love to you Nicky !!!

Bros from (Northern) Emerald, weird trio the Mama's Boys, quite famous in middle 80's Albion, yep Needle in the Groove was one of my favorites when young Max was living in Earl's Court, anyway the use of electric fiddle, sometimes through Marshall amps was delightful for my ears.
Yes, it's a Slade cover.

Eddie Jobson is an excellent polystrumentist, he played in Curved Air then Roxy Music then King Crimson then UK then Jethro Tull...uhm...then...at same time, so...UK and Jethro Tull toured together, in one of most controversial but spledid JT album, A !
Where Eddie played and composed on every songs.

I've bought Desiree only for the song Hurricane, the story of boxer Robin Carter, and the huge violin sound of Scarlet Rivera aka Donna Shea, I can't say if she's the shy fiddle girl on video near the Minnesota Minstrel.
Mass. Patriot's rating:

Violin, fiddle, lo strumento del Diavolo, Orchestra's Lead, 4 or 5 strings violin is the musical heart and brain of Europe, favorite instruments of many like Mozart, the fidlle is in every music composition since his invention. Old Max is a rocker you know, so open your ears and listen without prejudice...
