The Thin Blue Line is about the police of Gasforth. Uniform are led by Inspector Fowler, a man who likes to play by the rules. He often clashes with Detective Inspector Grim, his counterpart in CID. To add to his problems, Fowler's girlfriend works on the desk, and she's jealous of just about everything.
