Bobby Brown got clean and stayed clean of narcotics shortly before their divorce, Whitney getting sober was completely up to her. In her 2009 Oprah interview she didn't take any responsibility for her actions and instead threw Bobby not under but in front of the bus.

She actually did go to rehab several times. The "she sould've said yes,yes,yes,." jokes aren't making fun of her, they make the people who say look them ignorant. She was clean of drugs in 2008. I know this for a fact because it was then that she got this god awful haircut.

I think she only got treatment for the drug addiction and not the Alcohol addiction, hence her dying of alcohol poisoning and the police confirming that there were no drugs found in her system nor her home when she died.
