Midnight Express (1978)
A frustrating movie that is well shot and a reminder to never attempt smuggling drugs internationally.
Stehako's rating:

Straight Time (1978)
Possibly my least favorite role from one of my favorite actors, Dustin Hoffman
Stehako's rating:

This movie gets shit on a lot, and yes, it's nothing great but I found it to be fun and silly, in a good way.
Stehako's rating:

The debut film from Robert Zemeckis is a fun, yet sloppy, film about Beatlemania. Some of the scenes are really well constructed and others not, making this inconsistent and but clearly there was talent in the young director who would later direct 'Forrest Gump' and the 'Back to the Future' trilogy.
Stehako's rating:

Superman (1978)
This movie does not hold up but Brando's voice and words still resonate and Hackman is an entertaining villain
Stehako's rating:

The Last Wave (1977)
This Aussie film mixes great sound and vision that manages to combine a pending apocalypse with a murder trial.
Stehako's rating:

Every Which Way But Loose (1978)
Eastwood is perfect for this role in this gritty yet somehow family-friendly road trip tale about a man and his 'tang
Stehako's rating:

A bad-ass punk film that is actually punk and isn't fulfilling the social acceptance of punk. The music, the production design is all a mess and none of it really works on its own or makes much sense; but that's why it's punk. Anarchists don't need continuity.
Stehako's rating:

Heaven Can Wait (1978)
This remake shows Beatty in his zone, being the charming son of a bitch he is.
Stehako's rating:

Grease (1978)
One of the most fun musicals of all time boasting a long list of songs that will forever be in our culture.
As for the filmmaking qualities there are but a few, something clearly not necessary with the musical material.

Stehako's rating:

The ultimate stoner film. It's messy, silly, and uneven but none if this matters when both Cheech and Chong are high on screen.
Stehako's rating:

The Last Waltz (1978)

Scorsese's rockumentary on one of the greatest road bands, "The Band" turns out to be one of the greatest rockumentaries ever made.
Stehako's rating:

Days of Heaven (1978)

Malick's early film is breathtaking and... well, just look at the damn image above to give you an indication
