Hellboy (2004)
Date: 3/1/2019
Viewed: Netflix
Rewatch
Note: I decided to rewatch the original Hellboy movie with the new movie coming out in April. It is still a pretty good movie, but it is far from perfect. The special effects and the action still holds up. However, the supporting cast could have been way better. The movie also water down a lot of stuff from the comics in order to be PG-13.
I still think the movie is worth checking out if you never seen it. Watch this movie with the reboot coming out soon.

Night on Earth (1991)
Date: 3/2/2019
Viewed: Amazon Prime (Rental)

Note: This movie falls under the category of โHow the hell have I never seen this before?โ. I love every bit of this movie from start to finished. I love how well-directed this movie was and how beautiful the cinematography was. All of the characters are great and memorable. I love the theme of the movie because this movie theme is that we are all different but all live on the same planet and know similar things about life.
I also find the movie to be super relaxing to watch because I enjoy long car rides at night time and I felt like I was in the car with these characters in the movie. Overall, this movie has a clever and creative premise that works very well. I highly recommend this movie.

Note: I remember seeing the advertisements for this movie back in 1999, but never saw it until now. This movie is pretty awesome because I love the themes in this movie. This movie deals with people losing their humanity after eating human flesh and the horror of war. I was surprised to see this movie having comedy because this movie is mostly serious.
I also love the gritty atmosphere that this movie has as well. I recommend to check this movie out.

Note: I remember seeing this movie on the Sci-Fi channel back in the 90s. It was on Amazon Prime, and I was like "I remember this movie!". This movie is not bad for a killer animal film and it's a lot of fun. The story is nothing amazing, but you don't watch these type of movies for anything deep.
The movie has a fun cast of characters and the practical effects kick ass. I miss when movies like this would be made more often. Check it out if you enjoy B movies.

Horror of Dracula (1958)
Date: 3/4/2019
Viewed: Blu-Ray
Rewatch
Note: Probably my second favorite Dracula movie next to the original Nosferatu. The movie is top notch from start to finished with great acting, awesome cinematography and one of the oldest movie to have some level of gore in it. Christopher Lee as Dracula is just perfect in my opinion. If you haven't seen it, check it out.
AVPGuyver21's rating:
Punch-Drunk Love (2002) (2002)
Date: 3/5/2019
Viewed: Netflix
Rewatch
Note: The last time I saw this movie was back in 2002 when I saw the movie with my dad. Nearly 17 years later, the movie still holds up. I love the story and the struggle that Adam Sandler's character goes through. I also think the movie is very well directed and is relaxing to watch. Even though this is a serious drama movie, the movie still has some funny stuff in it that makes me laugh. I recommend to check this movie out.

The Lavender Hill Mob (1951)

Note: I'm not a huge fan of British comedies, but this one was pretty good. The humor is pretty funny at times and I like how the movie is divided into 3 segments. Worth checking out if you are into British cinema.

Dolls (1986)
Date: 3/6/2019
Viewed: Amazon Prime
Rewatch
Note: I haven't seen this movie since I was 6 or 7 on HBO. It's a pretty good movie with cool special effects and a creepy atmosphere going for it. This movie feels like a haunted house movie, but with killer dolls. I always like that the movie felt like it was done in the little kid's point of view of the movie. No one believes the little girl in this movie that killer dolls are on the lose other than the fat man child in the movie. I do recommend this movie if you want something short to watch.

Brick (2006)
Date: 3/7/2019
Viewed: Netflix
Rewatch
Note: I decided to watch this on Netflix after not having seen it since I was 15 back in High School. It's still a great movie and I enjoy slow burn movies for the most part. I really like all of the characters and doing a noir type of movie with teenagers was surprisingly well done. I highly recommended this movie.

Note: After hearing good things about this movie, I decided to check it out. I thought the movie was very good because I thought the story was interesting and I like the relationship between the characters. I don't know much about the real history behind the Norwegian black metal scene of the early 1990s, but it did make me want to learn more about behind the history of Mayhem and black metal in Norway.
The movie has the best onscreen suicide scene in a movie that I have seen in a while. I haven't seen one as authentic as this one. I highly recommended this movie.

Note: I decided to watch this movie on a lazy Sunday afternoon because I haven't seen this movie in nearly 20 years. Not a perfect movie, but I still laughed a whole lot when rewatching this movie. The movie is a pretty good satire on contemporary professional sports. The movie pokes fun on how crazy people are when watching sports and the bullshit that sports corporations will do for money.
The movie is better than most people give it credit for. Sure the movie can be a bit dated, but it is still funny as hell. I recommend to check out this movie on Netflix.

Thriller: A Cruel Picture (1973)
Date: 3/11/2019
Viewed: DVD
Rewatch
Note: One of my favorite Grindhouse movies and it still holds up very well. I love the dark, gritty and violent atmosphere that this movie has. Madeleine is an awesome female anti-hero character and I enjoy seeing her becoming stronger over time as she plans on getting revenge on the people who hurt her. Not to mention, the action sequences in this movie are awesome. Just seeing Madeleine going around killing bad guys is always fun to watch. I highly recommended this movie.

Note: I decided to check out the newest movie in the Puppet Master series after hearing good things about it. This movie is easily the best Puppet Master movie in the last 20 years. After so many bad sequels, it was nice to see a proper return to the series.
This is not a movie that you watch for the story or acting, but for the trash factor. The blood and gore in this movie is awesome because everything is done with practical effects (No CGI bullshit). I recommend to check this movie out if you are a fan of the series or if you like gory movies.

Note: This movie was awesome from start to finish. The acting was fantastic and I love the gritty atmosphere that this movie has. This whole movie is very suspenseful and it really had me on the edge of my seat. I want to watch this movie again. I highly recommend to check out this movie on Netflix when you get the chance.

Maniac (1980)
Date: 3/15/2019
Viewed: Blu-Ray
Re-Watch
Note: This movie is still awesome as always. It may have a simple story, but I feel like this movie has a lot to offer. The movie feels very realistic given how graphic the death scenes are. Joe Spinell does an amazing job of playing a creepy and twisted murder. I still get the chills when he is talking to his manikins. This movie is not mindless violence just for the sake of it. This movie deserves a higher rating outside of the horror movie fan community. I highly recommend this movie.

Dominator (2003)

Note: My friends and I watch this for a Bad Movie night and we end up loving it for all of the wrong reasons. The CG is so bad, it makes Food Fight look like if it was made by Pixar. The voice acting was awful and the plot makes no sense. This movie has so much loud noise and so much stuff going on, we could not help at laughing at it.
I do think this could have been a good movie if it had a better budget and better writing. Some of the jokes are pretty funny and the concept behind it was cool (It was like a British heavy metal version of Spawn). Not the worst animated movie that I saw, but it is worth watching for laughs. I recommend this movie for a bad movie night.

Troll 2 (1990)
Date: 3/16/2019
Viewed: Amazon Prime
Re-Watch
Note: The legendary bad movie that everyone knows about. This movie is still unintentionally hilarious for having bad acting, bad dialogue, and terrible storytelling. It's not the worst movie that I've seen, but I do love it for all of the wrong reasons. Critically I would give it a 3/10, but I give it a 7/10 for the trash factor.

Gods and Monsters (1998)

Re-Watch
Note: I always love this movie because of the great performances of both Ian McKellan and Brendan Fraser. It's a very interesting story of James Whale before he died in 1957 and him dealing with a troubled past. Even if the movie is not 100% true to real life, it's still a great movie nevertheless. I highly recommend this movie.

Note: This movie is just as awesome as I remember it when I first saw it in late 2016. This movie will have you on the edge of your seat from start to finish because this movie is one big thrill ride. The acting and the characters are amazing in this movie because you really care about the characters in this movie. Not to mention, the special effects in this movie are great (except for the CG train crash scene). The only thing that I didn't like about this movie was the ending. I still highly recommend this movie!

Death Wish (1974)
Date: 3/19/2019
Viewed: Amazon Prime
Re-Watch
Note: Still a great classic after all of these years. Every time when I revisit this movie, I feel like I'm watching this movie in the 1970s. This movie does an awesome job of showing the violent underbelly parts of New York in the 1970s. You also have great action and good characters as well. Check out this classic if you haven't seen it yet.

Note: I probably like this movie just as much as getting Out, if not better. This movie has a lot going for it and makes me want to watch it again. The acting was great and I love the twist ending. I haven't seen the movie with a great twist ending in ages. I highly recommend this movie.

I Am a Hero (2015) (2015)
Date: 3/22/2019
Viewed: Amazon Prime (Rental)

Note: Holy shit, this movie was awesome!! This movie does a great mix of action, horror, comedy, and drama into one. I really like the main characters and the development that they go through. This movie is over 2 hours and not a single moment is boring. While CG is a bit bad at times, the practical effects are great. This movie has some of the best gore in a zombie that I have seen in a long time. Sadly, this movie got overshadow by Train to Busan (Which is also fantastic, but still a very different movie) because they both came out the same year.
Overall, I highly recommend this movie to anyone who likes zombie movies or horror action movies. I want to check out the manga now after seeing this movie.

Note: Since the movie is leaving Netflix soon, I decided to rewatch this movie again. I grew up with Adam Sandler in the 90s and this was one of my favorite Adam Sandler movies when I was a kid. The movie still makes me laugh hard every time when I watch this movie. The story and characters are nothing amazing, but the humor in this movie always makes me laugh. Check it out before it leaves Netflix after March.

Johnny Gruesome (2018)
Date: 3/24/2019
Viewed: Amazon Prime
First Viewing
Note: I didn't know about this movie until I saw an advertisement for it on Facebook. This movie was okay and nothing too special. The acting is really bad for the most part and you can tell that this movie had a really low-budget because the special effects are not very good. It's not a terrible movie because I still had a lot of fun watching it. I dig the soundtrack, the humor was funny and I enjoy some of the characters. I just wish this movie had a bigger budget, better acting and better death scenes (This movie is not very gruesome, to be honest).
It's now free to watch on Amazon Prime at the moment, so I didn't regret watching it. Check it out if you are into teenage angst horror movies.

Note: This movie is awesome and I enjoy every bit of this movie. I didn't like this movie the first time I saw it back when I was a teenager. Watching it now over a decade later, this movie has a lot to offer by having a great story and characters. I really like the movie's themes of social criticism and fantasy rebellion. I highly recommend this movie!

Note: I was very impressed by this movie on how awesome it was. This movie has a likable cast of characters and the acting was very good. I love the atmosphere in this movie because the movie feels very dark and surreal at times. It can be very creepy and disturbing at times by not having any jump scares and knows how to use symbolism without feeling like major bullshit. The movie can be a total mindfuck as well. I highly recommend this movie!

Enter the Dragon (1973)
Date: 3/29/2019

Note: Still a great classic after all of these years. The story is simple but memorable. The action is top notch and the movie's pacing goes by perfectly. Not much else to say about this movie other than it's a great classic. Check it out if you haven't seen it yet.

Phantasm (1979)
Date: 3/30/2019
Viewed: Blu-Ray
Rewatch
Note: I decided to rewatch Phantasm for the 40th anniversary and the movie is still awesome. The disquieting atmosphere in this movie is top notch and it really helps make this movie feel scary. Tall Man is a great horror movie villain for how creepy and mysterious that he is. The acting in the movie is not that bad as well. I highly recommend this movie!

Wings of Desire (1988)

Note: This movie is fantastic and I love every bit of this movie. I never fully saw this movie until now. The characters, the story, and the camera work are really good. The movie has a slow start, but it starts to kick off after 15 minutes into the movie. I would love to see this movie again soon. I highly recommend this movie!
