"22.11 Kuvakukko new Melko laiskasti kirjoitettua hassuttelua. Nojailee lähinnä näyttelijäkaartiinsa ja senpä ansiosta oli kuitenkin ihan ookoo viihdykettä."
" DVD- 1hr. 46min. First Viewing While it's, surprisingly, more sobering than funny, The Death of Stalin contains some great satire, an excellent ensemble, and some deft historical filmmaking. The biggest issue that the film faces is tone; the ending is pure drama, but the comedic moments before that occasionally have a difficult time wringing the humor out of such bleak history. The cast have no problems with this, however; they're uniformly great with most giving, especially Beale, near career-"
“Since I kept hearing some pretty good things about this movie, I was really eager to check it out. Well, eventually, I really enjoyed the damned thing and it turned out to be one of the most hilarious movies I have seen so far with my film club. Indeed, it has been years since I have seen such a sharp dark comedy and the jokes were just constantly spot-on. What also made this movie worked was the fact that it was based on some historical events and, through the whole thing, you keep wondering if it all really happened this way. Well, as a matter if fact, it was apparently historically fairly accurate as, for example, Beria was indeed a real notorious sexual predator and Vasili Stalin was such an alcoholic that he died at only 40 years old. Still, even though it was really funny and it gave” read more

"This is such a funny yet dark film which manages to balance between the light and shade. Helped by a superb ensemble cast and a film-stealing performance from Jason Issac, this has moments that will shock, horrify but ultimately make you laugh. I loved it just as much as I did the first time I saw it."
"(OVERRATED BUT) CLASSIC MOVIE! Review coming soon... *Official 2020: A Movie Odyssey entry, by Dr-Faustus* "
"Excellent performances that are somewhat devoid of the extremely fast, snappy dialogue Iannucci is renown for, as The Death of Stalin attempts to walk a tightrope of not only creating a political farce but also construct a believable retelling of actual events while manipulating them to create a very tragic, murder-filled tableau of the Soviet Union. It goes too far in tampering with truth in the latter part, creating a somewhat macabre visage that often feels like it's rubbing your face in the "
"First viewing - March 25th After watching Unsane I grabbed lunch & then caught The Death of Stalin which was put on my radar last year when it screened during Fantastic Fest. Those who reviewed it from there sang its praises loudly, so I was curious to check it out. Add to that the fact that it's the latest film from Armando Iannucci who gave us the outstanding In the Loop plus the stellar cast & there wasn't much chance I'd let this pass me by. And again we have a movie that's well worth seein"
