If I recall it correctly, I actually saw this movie in the movie theater back then when I was living in England. The big problem with Michael Winterbottom is that the guy is such a workaholic, it is actually difficult to keep track of all the movies he has made and, on top of that, I believe that to make so many movies in such a short time has had a rather negative impact on the quality of his wor... read more

A good movie

“If I recall it correctly, I actually saw this movie in the movie theater back then when I was living in England. The big problem with Michael Winterbottom is that the guy is such a workaholic, it is actually difficult to keep track of all the movies he has made and, on top of that, I believe that to make so many movies in such a short time has had a rather negative impact on the quality of his work. Anyway, back in those days, I was still a big fan, especially after I saw his fascinating directing debut ‘Butterfly Kiss’ and this movie turned out to be another intriguing feature.  With a 20 million dollar budget, it was and still his most expensive movie so far and the shooting was apparently rather difficult as the set was at 3000 and 2400 meters high.
