A good movie

If I recall it correctly, I actually saw this movie in the movie theater back then when I was living in England. The big problem with Michael Winterbottom is that the guy is such a workaholic, it is actually difficult to keep track of all the movies he has made and, on top of that, I believe that to make so many movies in such a short time has had a rather negative impact on the quality of his work. Anyway, back in those days, I was still a big fan, especially after I saw his fascinating directing debut ‘Butterfly Kiss’ and this movie turned out to be another intriguing feature.  With a 20 million dollar budget, it was and still his most expensive movie so far and the shooting was apparently rather difficult as the set was at 3000 and 2400 meters high. Anyway, as usual with this director, the whole thing definitely had some potential but it was still rather half-baked, I’m afraid. Basically, I really liked the mood and the directing was really but I can’t say the story really blew me away. Anyway, even though it was nothing really amazing, I thought it was a decent watch and I think it is definitely worth a look, especially if you are interested in with Michael Winterbottom’s work.
