In my mind this will always be Hitchcock's greatest work, as well as one of my favorite movies of all time. As a film it is nearly flawless and it entertains and captivates from start to finish. One of Hitch's last black and white features, this one is as timeless as it was innovative. I actually already saw this movie but it was a long time ago, when I was a teenager but even though I enjoyed it, I didn't see what was so great about it. Indeed, I thought that the story was interesting but I didn't care much about the love story. (OK) Love and adventure and all what Hitch likes in Rio and Miami and the alibi of 2nd war. Indird is poisoned before, when she drinks and Cary doesn'y like it; and at the end is as much pride and shame than fear in the Sebastian's. In the couple, is pure rescue for love...

Description: At the end of World War II, American military intelligence drafts the alluring daughter (Bergman) of a convicted Nazi to infiltrate a band of nefarious Germans who have fled to Brazil. "The American daughter of a convicted Nazi spy is asked by government agents to spy on a group of her father's Nazi friends. Through a series of events that I won't get into, they basically uncover a smuggling plot. But that's not the focus of the story.
