"3.2. 2025 Why was this remake made? Why did the director thought that he could possibly improve Lubitsch's comedy masterpiece? Modern film technology might have some advantages compared to old technology but it doesn't matter if the filmmakers don't have any new, meaningful perspectives to offer. If the jokes in the remake work, they only work because they were already introduced in the original film. The original film is also so tied to its era that it is practically impossible to surpass it."
