Initial Thought: Arnold Schwarzenegger in his most dramatic role ever. Not only is he trying to seriously act here, but this also kind of has zombies. Put two and two together and you can count me in. I couldn't wait to see how everything gets pulled off.

Characters/Acting: This is the most serious role I have seen where Arnold Schwarzenegger puts his acting chops to the test. Abigail... read more

6,006 Leftovers... (389 movies items)

"REDEEMING FACTORS: Critics often criminally underrate the overall appealing screen-presence of Arnold Schwarzenegger, who only seems to gain more intrigue and morbid fascination with each passing year. Arnie does a MASTERFUL job here as a father being forced to face the inevitable. It creates some rather unexpected dramatic tension, felt all throughout the film's duration. WHY IT'S HERE: It pains me to have to dislike this one so much but in the end, the whole thing was an endurance test, that "

2015 Films - Worst 10 (20 movies items)

" Maggie does have its heart in the right place, and at its core it presents an emotional and sorrowful story. One that is both tender and somber. I salute the effort to make a zombie/virus film that is more about the grief and emotional outbreak rather than to turn it into an action oriented film. The problem is however that the film fails to reach me emotionally, rendering it boring and pointless for me personally. I think that Abigail Breslin gives a strong performance, but she is unfortunate"

"06.04. Netflix, 1st viewing DIRECTED BY Henry Hobson Even with the mediocre ratings it's received, I was very intrigued to see a serious zombie drama starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. I appreciate him trying something entirely different, but, unfortunately, the film is very serious, very monotonous and badly directed with a lot of clumsy, unnecessary close-ups of worried faces. The most boring film in a while. "

BradWesley123's Movie Journal- August 2015 (29 movies items)

" DVD- 1hr. 35min. First Viewing Schwarzenegger and Breslin do some strong work (Ahnold, in particular, does some of his best dramatic work), but Maggie only works in spurts. When it focuses on the characters, its solid. When it tries to be a Malick-y look at conflict between man and nature, it is fairly bland. Unfortunately, the latter gets the most screen time, and the film suffers for it. "
