The story is based on the play 'The boy in the last row' and a well crafted French drama centers between teacher and student relationship.

For some reason, even though I have never been a huge fan of François Ozon's work, I have actually managed to watch most of his movies (I have even seen his 2 first directing efforts in the movie theater when they were released). “For some reason, even though I have never been a huge fan of François Ozon's work, I have actually managed to watch most of his movies (I have even seen his 2 first directing efforts in the movie theater when they were released). Well, anyway, this movie was probably one of the best he has made so far. Basically, the main problem I had with this director is that he always comes up with some interesting concepts but they usually end up being rather half-baked and this movie was a perfect example. Indeed, the first 20 minutes where quite mesmerizing, especially when this teacher reads for the very first time one of these stories written by one of his students.
