"2.8. Väsähtäneellä ranskalaiskomedialla on periaatteessa mahdollisuudet olla samalla tavalla viihdyttävää jähmeää roskaa kuin esimerkiksi Fu Manchu -elokuvat. Susipaska huumori kuitenkin pilaa koko elokuvan. Lyhyt, äkäinen ja kaljuuntuva poliisimestari juoksemassa nopeutettuna ympäriinsä hassuttelumusiikin saattelemana on omissa silmissäni erittäin kaukana hyvästä elokuvaviihteestä. Vähän veikkaan, että trilogian kaksi jälkimmäistä osaa jäävät katsomatta."
