“Illumination and Universal Pictures continue to make a lot of money from the Despicable Me franchise, branching out into Minion-centric prequels, a web series, short films, video games, a holiday special and even a theme park attraction. Nevertheless, it is becoming increasingly difficult to care about the movies after 2013's disappointing Despicable Me 2 and the equally forgettable Despicable Me 3.
