Debb received the ire of her tribe mates early on the Kucha tribe as they were trying to locate their camp. Her attempts to take charge of the situation and her bossy attitude were not well appreciated. She wasn't pleased when Michael took control of construction of their shelter on Day 1. She said it didn't sit right with her that he was ordering people around, and she felt that Rodger, who had more experience in construction, should be doing it instead. Whether this was a mutual feeling in the camp or if Michael taking control just bothered Debb is unknown. It became increasingly clear she did not relate to her other tribe mates, as she was disapproving of Kimmi's behavior during their first night.

On the second day she attempted to make fire, but was unsuccessful. Again, her attempt to be an authority figure on the subject despite not being able to make the fire did not play well with her tribe. When they lost the immunity challenge, Debb became a target because of her age and bossiness. She pushed for the tribe to vote off Jeff because he was sick. Both Debb and Jeff tried to give the impression to other people that the other one didn't even want to be there anymore, which doesn't seem to be the truth. Eventually, Eaton became the first person to be voted off from the Outback, with an unanimous 7-1 vote.

-Debb Eaton is currently a corrections officer in a men's prison located in Berlin, New Hampshire. She was married for almost 17 years to Donald Eaton, a New Hampshire State police officer who died on duty in 1997. She has a son , a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps who is currently stationed at the United States Embassy in Beijing, China. At present, Eaton lives in Milan, New Hampshire, but in the past has resided in various other areas of the state, including Manchester, Derry and Deerfield. She was born in Milwaukee and grew up in Cudahy, Wisconsin.

Kel lasted only 6 days in the Outback. He got the boot mainly because tribemate Jerri Manthey accused him of holding out on the tribe by smuggling beef jerky in his kit bag. He then rebutted that he was not eating beef jerky. Instead, he was licking grass. Gleason tried to earn his tribemates' trust by offering his shaving kit (his luxury item) to the females. Despite this, the tribe deemed him untrustworthy, and when their tribe lost their first Immunity Challenge, he was unanimously eliminated in a 7-1 vote.

-Kel's luxury item was a Shaving Kit. After the beef jerky incident, he offered one blade to the men and one to the women.
-Kel and Colby Donaldson are the first contestants from Texas.

Maralyn had some problems during the grueling trek to the Ogakor camp because of her age, but managed to get up. On Day 5, Maralyn became upset when Jerri accused Kel of smuggling beef jerky into the game, and claiming they had no right to scour his bag. She tried to get them to apologize to Kel, which they refused. Despite all this, and promising to vote Jerri with Kel, Matalyn decided to vote with the tribe and unanimously eliminate Kel.

She did not trust Jerri after Kel was voted off, and formed a close bond with Tina, who was of a similar age to her. Unfortunately, despite being well liked by her tribe, Ogakor voted her out on Day 9 after her poor performance in the third Immunity Challenge.

Post-Survivor

-Maralyn's luxury Item was Lipstick.
-For her audition tape, she videotaped herself spending 7 weeks living and sleeping inside a trash dumpster.
-Maralyn was the oldest female contestant in The Australian Outback.

Mitchell Olson is an aspiring singer/songwriter who was a contestant on the second season of reality television show Survivor, set in the Australian Outback.
Olson was the 4th person voted off the show. He had made a strong alliance with Jerri and Amber, who believed Colby was with them in the vote. However, Keith and Tina proved to have stronger ties to the Texan, and Colby sided with them in the vote, creating a deadlocked tie.
As Mitchell admitted he was ready to leave the game (having been targeted in the first place for being too weak), a past vote cast against him at the previous tribal council got him booted out of the tribe (Keith, voted for by the Jerri/Amber/Mitchell alliance, had no previous votes).

Post-Survivor

Olson appeared in an episode in Hollywood Squares.

-Mitchell became the first castaway to be eliminated over a deadlock tie vote and the first person to be voted out by counting his/her previous Tribal Council votes.
-Mitchell Olson is the tallest Survivor contestant, at 7 feet (213 cm).
-Mitchell's luxury item was a Song book.
-Mitchell Olson later wrote a song about his season called Back From the Outback. It was a parody of I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor.

Kimmi proved to be a very lively contestant in the game by expressing what came to mind. On their first night in the game she entertained her fellow Kucha tribe mates in the camp, talking about 'risque' subjects that upset Debb. Jeff also was annoyed by her loud talking their first night because he was still feeling sick from their hike to the camp. At their first Tribal Council, the friction between Kimmi and Debb was a factor in Kimmi taking part in the unanimous elimination of Debb, though after the votes were read she cried.

For the second Immunity Challenge, the survivors had to eat a variety of disgusting dishes. Kimmi was a vegetarian, and wasn't willing to sacrifice her morals by eating any animal. During the challenge she had to eat a cow brain, but refused. A tie breaker came down between Kimmi and the rival team's Tina Wesson on the other tribe, where they have to eat a worm (much to Kimmi's delight, for she could chow down the specimen). Kimmi was able to eat the dish faster than Tina, helping Kucha win immunity.

She took over the role of water provider, going on many trips to replenish and boil her tribe's water supply. After her tribe won chickens in the fourth reward challenge, Kimmi once again found herself grappling with her vegetarian beliefs as she could not stand to see the way her tribemates handled the chickens, leading to one of Survivor's most iconic conflicts, the infamous finger-wagging debacle with tribemate Alicia Calaway. When Kucha finally broke their record of five consecutive challenge wins by losing the fifth Immunity Challenge, her liberated and grating demeanor caused her tribemates to eliminate her in a 6-1

Post-Survivor

Kappenberg married her boyrfriend, Kevin Caminske, in August 2004, despite suffering serious injuries in a car accident a few weeks before the wedding. They have two children, and lived in The Woodlands, Texas. They have since divorced.

-Kimmi's luxury item was a Scrabble board. Her tribemates used the tile racks as spoons for eating.

Michael proved useful to the Kucha in being able to carry heavy loads of things to their camp. He tried to take control of the building of their shelter on Day 1, despite Rodger having more experience in the field of construction, though it didn't seem to annoy anyone except for Debb, who voiced her resentment of him taking control. After losing the first immunity challenge, Michael participated in the unanimous vote off of Debb.

On Day 4, Michael woke up early and put rice on the fire. This upset some of his tribe because they were not hungry and considered it a waste of their limited food supply. Michael claimed he was trying to make food for the tribe before they woke up, but some thought he made the rice because he himself was hungry.

The rice turned out bad, but Mike was shocked that they not only didn't appreciate it, but they didn't like it. He claimed that his tribe was getting edgy without food, and that they weren't aware how bad it was going to get. He decided to go fishing to at least provide his tribe a full meal. Another reason for his fishing was because during Kucha's first tribal council he was singled out as the leader, a position he wished to avoid. By catching fish, he hoped to shy away from the leadership position and to focus on the one activity. By catching fish he only further put himself in a bad position though by referring to himself as the 'leader' and focusing on his accomplishments.

On Day 6, still on his quest to provide food for the camp, Michael set out in hunt of a wild pig, generating controversy among fans. He crafted a spear with a stick and a knife, which only worried his tribe because it was their only knife and they did not want to lose it.

After Kucha won chickens in the fourth reward challenge, Michael felt threatened he might become useless as a food provider now, and decided to kill and eat the chickens as soon as possible.

In Day 17, while tending the camp fire, Skupin inhaled some smoke and passed out, accidentally falling into the fire and burning his hands. He immediately jumped into the cold Herbert River waters to ease the pain. The Survivor Medics immediately airlifted him out of the game. Before leaving, the five remaining Kuchas vowed to win to his honor (they did not).

Post-Survivor

Skupin released an autobiography entitled Fireproof.

-Michael is the first contestant to be medically evacuated from the show.
-Michael's luxury item in Survivor: The Australian Outback was War paint.
-Skupin holds the record of the longest time between seasons for a returning contestant, spanning 11.5 years (23 seasons).
-According to Rodger Bingham, Skupin and him were considered for Survivor: All-Stars and Survivor: Guatemala as returning players.[1]
-Michael stated in his Survivor: Philippines interview that it took a full year for his hands to completely heal after the fire accident in Australia.

Jeff was a contestant on Survivor: The Australian Outback, 2001. He was a member of the Kucha tribe and made it to the merge, but not the core group of nine, as there was a tie between him and Colby Donaldson, which the former lost. At the time, in the event of a tie, previous tribal council votes would be used. Jeff had two but knew only of one, Colby had zero. It was revealed on the Survivor Australia Outback DVD, in the special commentary section, that it was Kimmi Kappenberg that inadvertently gave away the vote he had against him during the Episode 2 Reward Challenge. This is also mentioned by Jeff in the episode he was voted off, early in the episode while the Kucha tribe is talking in their shelter at night.

Tina Wesson once referred to him as a "little devil" because he delighted in tormenting his opposition.

During the show, Jeff's luxury item was a coloring book and a set of crayons. The Survivors colored in the books and signed their autograph in it, and after the show, he sold the pictures on eBay to raise money for charities.

Post-Survivor

Jeff worked as an entertainment reporter for KCBS in Los Angeles, CA then E! News Live, and then as a field correspondent and host for the TV Guide Channel. He was a weekend news anchor and field reporter at FOX 8 WGHP in High Point, North Carolina. In his first year in broadcast news, he won an Associated Press Broadcast News Award: Rookie of the Year, in 2005.

Jeff began his career in communications as a public relations assistant and corporate communications manager for Citicorp in New York City. He was part of the first team in the corporate world to utilize the internet to communicate project information as a manager in Citicorp's "Product Design and Development Division."

He used that background to transition into web development, working in developing web properties for Citibank, MCI, Harlequin Romance, and Martha Stewart Living Online. Jeff used his Survivor exposure to turn his web and PR career into a full-blown on-camera reporter, anchor and host.

In May 2007, Jeff left FOX 8 due to what he called "angry and unprofessional management" from the station's news director. He is now working for WWMT in Kalamazoo, Michigan as a News Anchor for the News Channel 3 morning news. Jeff was promoted November 27, 2008 to WWMT evening anchor. He anchors the 10pm CW7 newscast solo, then joins Judy Markee as co-anchor for Live at 11.

On July 27, 2009 Jeff was selected as one of the top 20 broadcasters nationwide to serve as finalist for co-host for a day on Live with Regis and Kelly. Local new viewers nominated their favorites. For two days, Regis and Kelly viewers voted for the best, and on July 29, 2009 the nationwide vote selected Jeff as co-host. He's set to host August 7 with guests Susan Lucci and David Cook.

-Jeff was the second player ever eliminated at Tribal Council through the original "previous votes against" tie-breaker. The first was Mitchell Olson.
-Jeff's previous votes were revealed to Tina Wesson by Kimmi Kappenberg during the second challenge.
-Jeff's luxury item was a Coloring book and Crayons.

Alicia proved an asset to her tribe because she was physically fit, thus she not targeted early on in the game. After her tribe, Kucha, lost the first Immunity Challenge, she was approached both by Debb Eaton and Jeff Varner who were trying to get each other voted off. Alicia was more receptive to Jeff, and participated in the unanimous vote off of Debb.

On Day 4, Alicia and her tribe were annoyed that Michael Skupin put rice on the fire without asking, thinking he did it just because he was hungry. Alicia believed there to be an overall theme to Michael that he thought things revolved around him, including when he started to catch fish for the tribe and his use of their only knife to hunt for pigs.

Calaway had a memorable argument with Kimmi Kappenberg, because of the latter's vegetarianism, as Kimmi wanted to regulate the consumption of the chickens they had won after a Reward Challenge, leading to the show's most iconic conflicts, the finger-wagging incident.

She eventually made to the merge, but was eliminated on Day 24 for being a physical threat by the dominant Ogakor alliance.

Post-Survivor

In 2002, Calaway hosted World's Strongest Man and World's Strongest Woman on ESPN, and once hosted a special on Antarctica in April for Outdoor Life Network. She does public speaking and is a health/fitness reporter for Fox 10:00 PM newscast.

-Alicia's luxury item in Australia was a Hair comb.
-Alicia's jury vote was in both cases for the Sole Survivor. She voted for Tina in Australia and for Amber in All-Stars.
-She was offered to compete in Heroes vs. Villains, but she turned it down.

She also appeared in the movies Destiny (2002) and Komodo vs. Cobra (2005). She worked as a sideline reporter on the TV series Extreme Dodgeball during its first season, but did not return for the second or third season. She also appeared in the music video for "Faith Hill"'s version of Piece Of My Heart.

On March 3, 2010, while Heroes vs. Villains was still being aired, Manthey was purged from a US Airways flight in Charlotte, North Carolina after a disagreement with the flight crew. She posted an open letter to US Airways management on her Facebook page sharing the details of her experience.

-Jeff Probst noted that in her performance in Heroes vs. Villains "everything came together." Jerri felt delighted to learn that she became much more likeable after her third season
-Jerri held the record of having the most votes against her overall (not in a single season), garnering 23 (28 - if 5 votes canceled due to a hidden immunity idol are counted), however Ozzy Lusth broke her "record" in Survivor: South Pacific, with 27 votes against him overall.

Nick began the game on the wrong foot when the Kucha tribe was trying to locate their camp. He was given control over the compass, but was unable to properly read it, annoying some of his tribe mates. After Kucha lost the first immunity challenge, Nick participated in the unanimous vote off of Debb.

Around camp, he began to annoy Alicia and Jeff by not helping around camp. Nick had built a make shift kitchen and chair, but his lack of help in every day activities and outright ignoring others who asked for his help were treated with disdain. Jeff and Alicia were concerned he was flying too low under the radar and could be a threat later.

He eventually made it to the merge, finishing seventh overall after being deemed by the dominant Ogakor alliance as the next physical threat from the three remaining Kuchas.

Amber was a participant in the second season of Survivor, having auditioned for the season to put off getting a job after college. She was a member of the green Ogakor tribe, and she was quick to fortify a strong friendship with fellow contestant Jerri Manthey, who helped construct an alliance with Colby Donaldson, Tina Wesson, and Mitchell Olson.

Upon the merge, Ogakor managed to use the knowledge that one of Kucha's members, Jeff Varner, had received votes beforehand, and eliminated him, thus gaining a numeric advantage over the other group. Later in the game however, it was decided by a majority of the remaining players that Amber had played "under-the-radar", and she was sent home, ultimately landing in sixth place.

A member of the jury, Amber cast her vote for Colby, who failed to win the million dollars, losing to Tina Wesson.

Post-Survivor

She was known for having a father-daughter relationship with Kucha tribemate Rodger Bingham, even vowing not to vote for him. She was the last remaining member of that tribe in the game before being voted off on Day 39 and finishing fourth overall. Her luxury item was a self-made headdress.

On July 6, 2002, Filarski married her college boyfriend, former professional football quarterback Tim Hasselbeck. The couple has a daughter, Grace Elisabeth, born in April 2005; and two sons—Taylor Thomas, born in November 2007; and Isaiah Timothy, born in August 2009.

Elisabeth became one of the hosts of The View in 2002.

She has written a book on the subject, The G-Free Diet: A Gluten-Free Survival Guide, which has appeared on several best-seller lists. On June 23, 2009, a lawsuit was filed in a federal court in Massachusetts alleging that her book was plagiarized from a self-published book by Susan Hasset. Hasselbeck released a statement calling the allegations baseless. The lawsuit was dismissed in November 2009 when the plaintiff's lawyer declined to pursue it, saying to the press that he believed some degree of plagiarism occurred, but it was not sufficient to justify monetary damages.

She was invited to join in Survivor: All-Stars and also offered a slot in the Heroes tribe in Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, but declined both offers.

-Hasselbeck and Keith Famie were the only contestants in Survivor history that reached 39 days, but did not make it to the Final Tribal Council, since the season was three days longer than the previous season and subsequent seasons.
-Hasselbeck was asked to return for Survivor: All-Stars but declined due to her job offer as a co-host on The View. Hasselbeck would be replaced by fellow Survivor: The Australian Outback tribemate Amber Brkich, the eventual winner of All-Stars.
