Where all my obsessing began. Pocahontas should totally be counted as a Disney princess! They'll put Mulan (a cross-dressing warrior) over an Indian chief's daughter? No offense to Mulan.
Anyway, Disney's version of the Jamestown/John Smith/Pocahontas story. And my favorite version!

The Last of the Mohicans (1992)
One of the many adaptations of James Fenimore Cooper's famous historical novel. Even though the plot is drastically altered, I can live with it. I get to see Native Americans.

The New World (2006)
Probably a more realistic approach to the Jamestown/John Smith/Pocahontas thing.

Terrence Malick. Terrence Malick. Terrence Malick.

Dances with Wolves (1990)
A Union Army Soldier trying to salvage his post befriends a tribe of Natives. I would like this better if it was a tad shorter...

Smoke Signals (1998)
One of the cutest films I've EVER seen. I feel like I should have been born a Native American. I would probably stop obsessing over movies such as this one.

Little Big Man (1970)
White man raised by Native Americans. I really only know that much because I have been wanting to see this one forever!
What a depressing movie. It's really about a family that lives in the Rocky Mountains. However, this family happens to have Native American hands to help out with the property. I don't know how I feel about this one...

A Man Called Horse (1970)
Wow. How do I describe this? I don't think blending genres works... but they did the best they could. Can you see the Native Americans behind Olivia Wilde?!?
I can honestly say that the movie got 10x better for me once the Native Americans stepped in. The title should be, "Cowboys, Aliens, and Native Americans save day". Though that may be a little offensive...

I have a strange obsession with Native Americans. And I mean that with good intentions! When my two favorite obsessions (film and Native Americans) come together, I get a strange giddy feeling.. SO. Here are movies about or including Native Americans. I know there are millions out there and this is just off the top of my head, so I've decided I will always be adding on.
