Beautiful Films: The Searchers
Making superb use of its Monument Valley locations, The Searchers (1956) is such a magnificent and atmospheric visual experience that questions over possible racism towards native Americans, and/or an ambiguous attitude towards John Wayne's racist character, may often take a back seat. Widely considered director John Ford's greatest masterpiece, it is one to be seen on the big screen.
