Cinema - The Most Underappreciated Films
This is a list of movies I not only enjoy, but comprehensively understand & can defend against those who wrote about it: critics & followers of critics. When I read their critiques of the following films below, they tend to lack justification.

This is one of Shyamalan's library of great works in which I am most passionate about. All the irrational hatred and low ratings that are unfortunately attached to The Last Airbender shows how irrelevant the responses are to the content behind this work of art. Instead, the responses seem fueled by another source: their obsessive knowledge and love of the TV show.
Coming from someone who also enjoyed the TV show of Avatar: The Last Airbender, it seems like I am one of the few welcoming the creative retelling of this adaption. My case is very simple: I understand that people are not going to have the same conclusions about an art form. Nobody is going to love and appreciate some aspects of M. Night Shyamalan's work, but there seems to be a pattern that disturbs me. Evidence of lacking original thought is found in people writing about M. Night Shyamalan's work. Instead of creating original ideas, people seem to share the same conclusions as mainstream media's most repeatedly published articles of similar subjects. This is known as borrowed thinking rather than a person choosing to create their own original thoughts. Individuality should be cherished.

This beautiful work of political cinema is my choice for earning top oscar nominations. Other than that, this was an excellent year of great movies. Syriana did not receive the praise it rightfully deserved. For one, this type of cinema breaks the common formulas found in most unintelligent Hollywood movies. The narrative structure of Syriana is very difficult to grasp on first viewing. It demands the audience to pay very close attention. The message this movie is trying to portray is very layered with substance. In a way, every audience member is going to reflect on this high political film in relation to their own politics. That is the beauty of movies like Syriana. Where the audience is going to have their own unique reflection.
Peter Jackson's film is severely underrated, and has not received the appreciation it deserved. The initial criticism from the anti-intellectually monopolized film critics are filled with the typical illegitimate criticisms such as Jack Black's role, the length of the film, and the epic style similar to LotR does not suit a monster movie. All BS.
