Mortal Kombat (1995)
A product of its time? Yes, definitly. But it's good at translating to screen most of what the games were about. I love its faithfulness.
Paulo Júnior's rating:

Silent Hill (2006)
A good adaptation of the games with some dumb changes. Audiovisuals are perfect, it's just themes and depth are shallower than the games.
Paulo Júnior's rating:

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001)
I really think it translates well classic TR and Lara Croft to the big screen! The movie could be better as a standalone product, yes, but it's still fun.
Paulo Júnior's rating:

Pokémon: Detective Pikachu (2019)
A grittier adaptation of the source material, but a well done one nonetheless.
It's kinda faithful to the Sands of Time PS2 trilogy and it's not that bad an adaptation, just not that good of a movie sadly.
Resident Evil (2002)
A better movie than it is an adaptation (because it actually isn't an adaptation).
Paulo Júnior's rating:

D.O.A.: Dead or Alive (2006)
Fight scenes are cool, cosplays are cool. The games story is also dumb, so more can't really be expected of the live-action adaptation.
Street Fighter (1994)
The story has little to do with the games. And of course they replaced the japanese with the american as the main character! At least the cosplaying is relatively well-done.
Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997)
At least the cosplays are cool. And the story is kinda similar to Mortal Kombat 3's.
Alone in the Dark (2005)
It's terrible, really, but at least it has a few things in common with Alone in the Dark 4.
Double Dragon (1994)
Very little to do with the games, but the games barely had a story to begin with. I at least like the depiction of future featured here.
It at the same time tries to be faithful while simultaneously not being at all. Characters are butchered and their personalities are completely and utterly different from their game counterparts.
Paulo Júnior's rating:

Super Mario Bros. (1993)
Has nothing to do with the games and it is gross and stupid and ugly and bland and boring and ridiculous. But it came at a time where games weren't respected so I can't judge it as harshly as the ones below.
The King of Fighters (2010)
It's ridiculous in the worst of ways, it has NOTHING to do with the games. It's offensive to KoF fans.
Paulo Júnior's rating:

It's SO awful! It makes no sense and the scenes seem to be directed as to annoy and cause headaches. It's almost like they were trying to be awful.

Unseen
I did not see it
Sonic the Hedgehog (2020)
Seems well made, obviously for kids. I still would've preferred faithful adaptation of the Adventure storyline or even better an animated movie. I like Sonic but I'm a faithfulness-whore and watching it would only lead to me being frustrated.
Tomb Raider (2018)
Seems like a really well done adaptation of the source material. But I hate this version of Tomb Raider and Lara Croft.

Television
Games adapted to the big screen with real actors. And yes, it's a ranking (more or less).
