Vagrant Story - PlayStation
Vagrant Story is one of the best games on PS1, without a doubt. When I was a kid I always wanted it, but by then Squaresoft was already a household name and all their games were very expensive. I tried it out later and was very impressed with it's design, but somewhere along the way I got stuck and my laptop broke or something. I really should try it out again.

Mega Man - Famicom and NES
Some years ago I decided to play the first three Mega Man games, but at the end I never beat the first one. If I remember correctly there was a part where's this one secret item you're supposed to get or else you can't get to the end. Naturally you couldn't know about this thing unless you had already screwed up, cheated or had help from someone beforehand. That's bullshit.

Super Mario Bros. 2 (The Lost Levels) - Famicom Disk System
I used to play this thing on an emulator and still never made it to the end. SMB2 was supposed to be more advanced and difficult version of the first one, but somewhere along the way they got really carried away with the idea. It mostly works just like the original, but now there are all new hazards that can kill you instantly plus all the infamous jumps that require one nano-pixel accuracy.
The big boss of Nintendo America tried this game out and was so frustrated with it that he instead told Nintendo to give Western players something else.

Demon's Crest - Super famicom and SNES
I can't remember the last time I played this gem, but I remember feeling very frustrated since the difficulty isn't easy. Maybe someday I'll have to try it out again.
Demon's Crest reminds me of this PC hysteria we have these days. Back in the day conservative parents lost their shit when they saw this game, since it has so many references to gothic horror and all kinds of evil forces, so that's why it's so rare these days. The game itself is brilliant.

Disgaea: Hour of Darkness - PlayStation 2
This game is frigging huge, the story goes forever and the combinations of all the custom options make the thing feel infinite in its depth. I haven't beaten this one yet, but some day maybe. Starting all over again is my worst fear, since there's so much to do and get lost into.

Contra - Famicom and NES
I love Contra and played it like crazy back in the day, as a multiplayer it's not that difficult. The reason I've never beaten it is because I haven't had anyone to play with in years and the solo mode is hard as balls.

Zelda II: The Adventure of Link - Famicom and NES
This game is legendary hard. So hard in fact, that I've never managed to beat it without cheating. Last time I made it to the second to last boss after hours of preparing and got my ass handed to me. No matter how good you think you are in this game, the last dungeon is still the Mount Everest of frustration.

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver - PlayStation
A very impressive game for its time, but I remember it being somehow weird, maybe my age had something to do with it. Ever since I came to know the main designer and her wonderful body of work I've wanted to try it out again.

Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete - PlayStation
Even though I LOVE the original, I've never bothered to complete this one. The Sega-CD version is just perfect as it is, but I found the remake mostly boring and slow even if it's nowhere near as filled with new content as Silver Star. I know the original doesn't start really kicking until few hours in, but this is like 10+ hours or so and that's way too much.

Final Fantasy XII - PlayStation 2
I've owned this game since it was released but never made it through. The reason being that I really hated the game itself, it simply bore and annoyed me to death.
For example, the story and the characters are as boring and flat as they come, I hated the voice actors and some of the design choices are just plain terrible. Unlike some of the 16-bit RPG's you still can't save FFXII whenever you want and the save points are very scarce, you might have to run back and forth for hours just to be able to shut the game and get some shuteye. The dungeons are just endless one way tubes with unlimited amounts of one or two basic enemies and building character abilities is just one guessing game with zero depth
In other words, it's a bad game.
