Resident Evil (2002)
Cool idea and decent adaptation from the game, but executed poorly in writing and direction.
Stehako's rating:

40 Days and 40 Nights (2002)
40 minutes in I realized it would take 40 minutes to forget about this movie
Stehako's rating:

Actually probably more entertaining than the original Martin and Lewis. Wasn't a big fan.
Stehako's rating:

Men in Black II (2002)
The first one was for everyone this one... is for kids and adults who are still kids
Stehako's rating:

Narc (2003)
I would tell you who recommended this bland movie to me, but then I'd be a...
Stehako's rating:

Aniston is such a likable and beautiful actress, she can't go wrong. This one needed a little work overall, though.
Stehako's rating:

Barbershop (2002)
Cube does his best to make a respectable movie here. It's a bit amateur but the characters make it worthy.
Stehako's rating:

A messy and low-grade but Heartbreaking story that serves as an interesting microcosm of how mixed kids were taken care of after the Vietnam War.
Stehako's rating:

Half stupid childish humor and half real comedy, and zero amounts of talent coming from Winona Ryder
Stehako's rating:

Yes, three portraits, with each becoming less interesting than the last. I was hoping for a stronger connection by the end, but alas, it was weak. I still like the idea and there are enough bright points to give it a 6.
Stehako's rating:

Die Another Day (2002)
Do another Bond like this and the series will die. Entertaining; but one of the weakest I've seen.
Everyone one in the cast seemed tired and the production is "neat-looking" but lazy.

Stehako's rating:

The Weight of Water (2001)
Elizabeth Hurley keeps any interest easily lost in this film that seems to have little point. However, Bigelow does direct this well, and some scenes are interesting with tension.
Stehako's rating:

I Spy (2002)
Two funny actors with a less-than-hilarious script. A lot of potential but with only a few solid moments to take home with you.
Stehako's rating:

Comedian (2002)
It's good to see this neurotic genius behind the scenes. He still gets nervous about going on stage after all he's done. I liked the smaller acts; but felt they spent too much time on some.
Stehako's rating:

Antwone Fisher (2003)
Fisher is so into himself he wrote a movie that is simply his name.
Stehako's rating:

K-19: The Widowmaker (2002)
Harrison Ford with a Russian accent... I've seen better
Stehako's rating:

A very artistic documentary about a dude with a lot of time on his hands
Stehako's rating:

About as good as I had hoped. Fun characters and a nice story. I thought there would be more rain though.
Stehako's rating:

Igby Goes Down (2002)
This Culkin is talented and I'd like to see more of him. A quirky movie all the way through.
Stehako's rating:

Great visuals and interesting untold story of WWII, but the acting is too far from believable and the movie draaags.
Stehako's rating:

xXx (2002)
The perfect movie for Vin Diesel, and actually watchable. It's James Bond for the lower class.
Stehako's rating:

Ice Age (2002)
A Pixar wannabee that is rarely funny. In fact the only thing that mad me laugh out loud was Scrat appearing randomly and for a split second during a falling scene.
Stehako's rating:

Frustrating but kept my interest all the way through. It reminded me of a more tame 'Falling Down'
Stehako's rating:

The Hours (2003)
Will Julianne Moore please stop acting. Everyone else: Bravo. Well, Kidman was good, but half of the credit should be given to make-up. Just because she looks different doesn't mean her performance was great.
And what was with the music, why did it so much praise? I found it distracting and manipulative on top emotional inept.
Otherwise, well-made film.
Okay, well-made, but not sure how it was nominated for a Best Picture Oscar. This has to be one of the weakest nominations yet.

Stehako's rating:

Treasure Planet (2002)
In the thick of Disney's down years, but a good bit of fun for the adventurous boy and a clever retelling of the Treasure Island tale.
Stehako's rating:

Spirited Away (2001)
I've never been into Anime but Miyazaki can at least make a watchable film and this is perhaps his best. I'm not sure how this has 8+ ratings, but I did enjoy it and loved the visuals and strange world with strange creatures.
Stehako's rating:

Panic Room (2002)
Fincher's weakest film yet; but still good. Can you people stop hiring Whitaker, please? He's terrible! This is also Jared Leto's worst role; but, sadly for her, Kristen Stewart's best role.
Stehako's rating:

I love the filmmaking in this and I'm awed with the way the story is told and the characters are developed.
BUT
I hate the excess violence and disgusting sex (not the beautiful ending sex scene - pictured -), especially the ridiculously long and horrible rape scene.
Stehako's rating:

Murder by Numbers (2002)
A decent murder mystery with pretty good performances by Gosling and Bullock; but I couldn't ever get over the horrible thought of killing a completely innocent person at random.
