Actors playing the same type of character

Sort by: Showing 1-50 of 52
Next » 1« Prev

Anna Faris

Characters: Attractive and stupid blonde (even when she isn't blonde)

Bruce Willis

Character: John McClane and similar characters
Bruce's more profitable roles often involves guns, explosions and one-liners. But don't get me wrong, he's good at what he does.

Denzel Washington

Characters: The righteous guy
Suggested by johanlefourbe

Harrison Ford

Character: Angry-looking badass

Jennifer Aniston

Character: Unlucky in love, working girl
Has trouble finding a man, find a man, misunderstanding, break-up, back together.. Oh-oh, spoiler!

Kate Hudson

Character: Perky and bubbly girly-girl with a strong backbone

Katherine Heigl

Character: Unlucky in love (following in the footsteps of Jennifer Aniston)

Matthew McConaughey

Character: Charming ladie's man
In all of his rom-com's he just needs to find the right girl to settle down.

Michael Cera

Character: Socially awkward virgin

Morgan Freeman

Character: Level headed and wise old man
Usually appear in movies to offer advice.

Samuel L. Jackson

Character: yelling..
He's yelling.. a lot!

Sean Connery

Character: Scottish
Not in one point of his career has Sean Connery even tried to adopt the native accent of the characters he's playing, although he was once voted the man with the worst accent in showbiz. It doesn't matter if your american, spanish or russian, if Sean Connery is playing you, you will have a scottish accent.

Vince Vaughn

Character: Womanizing bachelor with the emotional maturity of a 13-year-old (whether he plays single or married)

A list of the Hollywood actors who often is seen playing the same type of character over and over.

Work in progress

I like a the concept but you should put some more actors.

And also the description for and Harrison Ford and Samuel L. Jackson don't really fit. For Jackson, I would say "cool dude with a big mouth". For Ford, it is more tricky.

I would add Denzel Washington as "The Righteous guy", excpect for "Training day" and "American Gangster", he always play the same part.

stolen. don't ask why she didn't have this actor or that actor since the user can't even make her own list using her own ideas. she can't even come up with her own jokes and descriptions. it took me one search on google and less than a minute to find these two links.

Thanks for adding my suggestion!

@mojack, I have seen 32 movies with Denzel Washington (it is more than 80% of his movies) and he ALWAYS play the same part! He does a great job, that's for sure but it is always the same thing. And you, how many of his movies have you seen ?

@lexie, great work! The list is awesome.

not bad but you left out Anne Hathaway (ALWAYS either the desperate slut, or the desperate Cinderela-geek), Amy Adams (the obnoxiously perky 40 y/o who thinks she's a 16 y/o), Ellen Page (the "sarcastic" hipster), Zooey Deschanel (the "quirky" indie queen who is SOOOOO CUUUUUUTEEE!!1!1!!!), Johnny Depp (the "weird" sidekick who somehow ALWAYS gets HIS name in the title instead of the actual star).

@Kawaii : well basically they are actors that you DON'T like just because you don't consider them attractive or "exotic" enough for you, correct? I mean, it has nothing to do with the roles they're playing. You just don't like them PURELY because of their looks (and God knows for what other reasons), am I right? Hey guess what, Audrey Hepburn also played similar characters in most of her movies. Why don't you mention her? Oh right, because you LIKE her, huh? To you, she's too exotic and too beautiful to ever have flaws in her acting and choice of roles, right? I bet if actresses such as Jennifer Carpenter, Rachel Weisz, Brooke Shields, Cate Blanchett, Emily Deschanel, Anna Walton etc have all played the same types of characters over and over again in their movies, you wouldn't even dare to comment (heck, you wouldn't even notice) because you just like them damn too much, now would you?

Huh, what a HYPOCRITE!
