I know I had a poster similar to this one if not exactly like it. Judging by the lack of images I could find (hence the smaller image) I'd guess it's rare.

Around the time of Jedi's release, my dad brought home a dozen or so poster-sized still shots from the film on photo-quality paper. My sister & I divided them up & hung them on our bedroom walls for many years (I kept them up longer than she did though). I've got as many here as I could recall, but I know a few are missing. There were definitely close-up shots of Han Solo & Princess Leia, as well as a wide shot of the Emperor's guards standing at attention for Vader's impending arrival. Seems like there may have been one or two others as well, but I can't remember for sure. Since I have no idea how widespread these were it's possible I was one of the few people to have them.

My dad brought home both of these posters, and gave them to my sister & I. She got the one that has Arnold pictured on it, and I got the other.

Imagine having that on your wall as a kid. I was 10 when my dad brought this home. Also around this time he stopped working in the theatre business & had to find another job. So this was the last poster he got for me.

Before I was born & well into the '80s, my dad worked as a film buyer. As a result he got to see all kinds of movies before they came out & had access to posters, buttons, t-shirts, and other promotional items. As his children, my sister & I benefited as he'd often bring home posters for us which inevitably wound up hanging on our bedroom walls (he brought us buttons & t-shirts too btw).

Most of them weren't well taken care of (we were kids after all) & have since been thrown away, but fortunately I still remember most of what we had. So here's a little list of all the ones I could remember. Listed more or less chronologically.

By the way, I got the idea to make this list after seeing Xanadon't's On My Walls list. Thanks to him for inspiring me to put this together.

Awesome! How cool to have all those Star Wars screen-grabs?!

But fuck having Freddy on the wall at age 10! I think at that age I'd only finally stopped walking through the horror section of the video store with hands over my eyes, sneaking peeks now and then through my fingers.

Very reflective of that time. And that Temple of Doom poster would have been very funny to see on a child's bedroom wall hahaha

I wish I still had all my E.T stuff from when I was little. I still have a poster that is nowhere near as cool as the one you used to have. The one thing I truly love having is a E.T tin trash can. It used to scare the shit out of me though because for some reason I was terrified of E.T with the wig on as a kid and it had a picture of that on one side so I would always turn it the other way. Case and point...E.T is a badass and I'm jealous you had that poster sir.
