Psychiatrist C.J. Arnold buys an abandoned mansion, once owned by a Civil War general named Emilio Vargas, which was built over hot sulfur pits. There, he plans to set up a drug rehab center. C.J. recruits a group of volunteers to help clean up and renovate the large house. Almost immediately, C.J.'s wife, Dr. Caroline Arnold, senses a presence that starts to manifest as a ghostly apparition. Soon thereafter, more strange and eerie things start to happen which start to agitate the volunteers.

" Date: 12/16/2020 Viewed: Amazon Prime First Viewing Note: Strangely enough, I have never seen this movie before despite it being a popular movie with horror movie fans. I always remember seeing VHS copies of this movie growing up, but I never bother to watch it. I'm not the biggest fan of ghost and haunted house movies with some exceptions because I never find ghosts to be scary or interesting. I finally watch this movie on Amazon Prime and it was not bad. "Colonel Trautman vs house with the Devil in the basement: Richard Crenna and the rest of the cast were good. The house was pretty creepy setting and there were some nice deaths. The Devil at the end made me chuckle and even before his laughter was more comical than scary. "
