“I can't say I was really dying to see this flick but since the previous installment turned out to be so much more enjoyable than I expected, I thought I might as well check out this sequel. Well, it is the perfect example why, even if a movie becomes a box-office success,  you don't always need a sequel. I mean, it was not awful and it was pretty obvious that they just wanted to have fun this time around but, as a result, the dark edge displayed in 'Magic Mike' was completely gone but it was exactly what made this movie interesting in the first place. To make things worse, they went for a road trip which much be the laziest gimmick ever in screenwriting. " DVD- 1hr. 55min. First Viewing Magic Mike XXL looks beautiful; from the cinematography to the routines to the bodies, it's all top notch visual splendor. The story is just so fucking disappointing, taking the innovation and commentary of the original and replacing it with a "getting the gang back together"/road trip flick that never justifies it's existence. It pretty much exactly what we thought the original would, and that's not a compliment. "
