Since I’m a huge fan of Kate Winslet, I was really eager to check this flick. Eventually, it is one of those movies which shows Kate Winslet prominently on all the promotional material when in fact, she is not even the main character. Iris is a 2001 film that tells the story of Irish novelist Iris Murdoch and her relationship with John Bayley. The film contrasts the start of their relationship, when Murdoch (played by Kate Winslet) was an outgoing, dominant individual as compared to her timid and scholarly partner Bayley (played by Hugh Bonneville), and their later life, when Murdoch (now played by Judi Dench) was suffering from Alzheimer's disease and tended to by a frustrated Bayley (played by Jim Broadbent) in their North Oxford home in Charlbury Road.

BradWesley123's Movie Journal- February 2016 (26 movies items)" Netflix- 1hr. 30min. First Viewing Iris feels like the standard-issue British Oscar-bait, and it never really shakes that feeling. The cast does their best; Broadbent, Bonneville, Dench and Winslet are all superb, but they're really the only thing to really recommend. Sure, the structure changes things up a bit, but only the cast makes things watchable. "
