A very good movie
Ghost Town
Even though its meant to be a comedy the funny moments are few and far between. The single largest strenght of this film is Ricky Gervais, he manages to turn boring situations into quite funny ones and he reminded me a bit of John Cleese. " Note : I'm so amazed by the low ratings for this movie. Sure, to have someone talking with some dead people is just a terrible gimmick but this movie was just so damned hilarious and both Ricky Gervais and Greg Kinnear were just pitch-perfect here. Better than : Ghost (a box-office success but such a cheesy movie)"
"There was a time when I was the biggest Ricky Gervais fan. Not only is his version of the TV series "The Office" loads better than the American interpretation (but don't get me wrong, I can easily see why the U.S. version lasted so long), but he also followed it up with an even better TV show, the extra-extrapolating Extras. And both high quality programs were capped off by even higher quality Christmas specials. So that when Mr. Gervais went into movies, I was really rooting for the fat blimey"
