"09.01 Great performance by Reese Witherspoon in this gritty urban thriller drama. The mood shifts all over the place in this one and there are some really off-the-wall scenes. Not a classic in my book but well worth a watch. "

“I remember very well when this movie was released. Indeed, I’m pretty sure I actually saw it in the movie theater but, otherwise, I saw it very soon after. Anyway, while watching the damned thing, I was pretty sure I was witnessing the birth of a new Star. Indeed, Reese Witherspoon, who was just about 20 years old at the time, was just so charismatic and so talented here, I was pretty sure that she would have an impressive career. Eventually, she would keep making some smart choices and, within a few years, she managed to reach the A list and she hasn’t lost her spot ever since. Coming back to our main feature, even though Witherspoon was quite amazing, I’m not sure I really cared about the story though.
