Thomas Andrews: "She's going to sink, Captain."
Captain E.J. Smith: "But... She can't sink. She's unsinkable."
Thomas Andrews: "She can't float."

An adaptation of the excellent best-selling novel of the same name by Walter Lord, the docudrama A Night to Remember is to date the most focused and accurate cinematic portrayal of the sinking of the RMS Titanic. The film's p... read more

A few years back when I was picky with film selections of which to watch and which not to watch, I had heard of Titanic films called Titanic but I hadn't heard of this one until I decided to do some research on the films based on the sinking of the ship. I am a huge fan of the American epic romantic-drama by James Cameron and after realising that this isn't only based on history regarding the sink... read more

This meticulous re-creation of the sinking of the Titanic was adapted by Eric Ambler from the best-selling book by Walter Lord, and it preceded the blockbuster Titanic by almost 40 years. The film covers the life and death of the huge vessel from its launching celebration to that fateful night of April 14, 1912, when the "unsinkable" ship struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic. Of the 2224 passen... read more

Movie Reviews (101-150) (50 movies items)

" More believable than 1997s "Titanic" and with better characters. It is based upon facts about what happened and were known before divers went down to the boat and actually discovered that it had been split in half so here the boat only sinks to the bottom of the sea. But contrary to the effect fest of 1997 where every death was an effect and not "important" here every death and life matters and the character gallery is much vaster and interesting. "
