Plush (2013)
Twisted, sadistic, and dark. This is a B movie on obsessions that hooked me from the beginning.
Did I love it? No. There were some obvious "twists" and over-done cliches. So did I hate it? No. Overall it was worth the watch.

Talhotblond: (2009)
A horrible, disturbing documentary. Shit gets real around 45 minutes.
The film itself was a little slow at times because you are just left to read lines of instant messages. But other than that, it was put together well.

I noticed last year I rarely gave out ratings over 8, even when I loved the movie. So this year I'm going to try and be a little more giving. I LOVED this. Steve Martin's work was absolutely fantastic. This was very different from his usual style, but it worked.

Stuck in Love (2013)
The title sucks, but the movie is pretty good. It sends you on an emotional roller coaster from the start.
Lydia's rating:
If you take this movie too seriously, you will be unhappy. So go into it looking for a silly-ish, not-to-serious adaptation of a classic story. It was still an average film, but I didn't hate it.

Silver Tongues (2011)
This film was surprisingly captivating. It was a little slow and very dreary, yet I was hooked.

This starts a little slow, but give it a few scenes and you'll love it. This is a concept that have never seen before, and I have seen a ton of movies. Such a complex and intricate issue. What would YOU do. This one really got me thinking and it will stick with me for a long time, which is my definition of a good film. Absolutely loved it.

+1 (2013)
I actually enjoyed this film up until about the hour mark, then it just went sour. I idea was still there, but the acting went from mediocre to terrible. There were also some serious fundamental questions that I would address, but I really don't feel like diving into them. Just an average film that went south.

Take Shelter (2011)
I began this movie and kept thinking, "I've seen this, I KNOW that I've seen this, but I just don't remember most of it!" So I kept on watching. It was about as slow as the first time(that obviously didn't leave much of an impression). The idea was up to par, but the pace was just way too slow.
Lydia's rating:
Heartless (2010)
The most frustrating part of this movie was that I kept missing what was being said, and the CC was completely off. But even though I didn't catch a lot of lines, I totally understood the story, and I found it well put together.
Lydia's rating:
Factotum (2005)
This began promising enough, but by the middle I was glancing at the elapsed and remaining time far too often. I suppose if I was familiar with the author I would have liked it more.
Lydia's rating:
Very twisted for sure. I don't think it was as TERRIBLE as everybody makes it out to be, but it has definitely been done before oh so very many times. So there is nothing really noteworthy. Lots of lesbian sex, though.
