Tomatometer Guess: 78%. Seems like another huge hit from Marvel, but maybe not quite the home run that the first movie was.
Actual Score: 83%. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 suffers from often uneven pacing, a slight lull in the middle, and a slightly weaker storyline, it's still an absolute blast to watch and comes very close to recapturing the magic of the first film. Vol. 2 has the same witty humor, exciting action, and heart as the first film, only this time, it succeeds in being more personal and emotional than part 1.
It's not quite as good as the first, but it's pretty damn close.

Actual Score: 27%. King Arthur: Legend of The Sword is so disjointed, fast paced, uneven, and incoherent that it's almost impressive...almost.

Alien: Covenant (2017)
Tomatometer Guess: 71%. Director Ridley Scott returns to the place where no one can you scream in this new installment of the Alien franchise that will close the gap between Prometheus and the original 1979 film.
Actual Score: 71%. Depending on what your expectations are going in, Alien: Covenant will either be:
A.) A worthy entry into the franchise with solid performances (especially Michael Fasbender and Danny McBride), exciting action set pieces, great horror, and clever tie-ins to the original.
OR
B.) A disappointing installment that feels disjointed and uneven.
I fall into the former, but keep in mind that this film will likely be polarizing.

Actual Score: 31%. Dead Man Tell No Tales is...just another Pirates of the Caribbean movie. No more, no less.

JWR's rating:

Baywatch (2017)
Tomatometer Guess: 65%. This is a movie that could go one of two ways: It could either be a surprisingly self-aware and enjoyable revamp of the original show like 21 Jump Street, OR, it could be a crude, vulgar, and pointless waste of time like CHIPS.
Actual Score: 9%. Sadly, Baywatch is more in the CHiPS category. It's painfully unfunny, has poor production values, and egregiously misunderstands parody.

JWR's rating:

Wonder Woman (2017)
Tomatometer Guess: 75%. It's fair to say that the DCEU has been on shaky ground with its past offerings, but Wonder Woman could be the film that potentially changes the narrative and wins over those of us who haven't been on board.
Actual Score: 93%. Much higher than I expected it to be and a way better film than I thought.
Wonder Woman benefits from not being too connected to the other DCEU films, which helps in making it feel like a stand-alone film like the 1978 Superman film.
The acting is very good. Gal Gadot is charming, likable, and badass as Diana. She has fantastic chemistry with Chris Pine as Steve Trevor. The cinematography is breathtaking, as are the action sequences and the scope of the film.
Wonder Woman also benefits from having a lot of heart and optimism in its tone and message.
Apart from the so-so villains, I have no major complaints with this film and I sincerely hope that this is a sign of things to come quality-wise in the DCEU.

Cars 3 (2017)
Tomatometer Guess: 70%. With Cars being one of Pixar's lesser offerings and Cars 2 being universally considered as the studio's weakest effort to date, it's safe to say that expectations for Cars 3 are low.
That being said, these low expectations could end up working in the film's favor if it turns out to be better then everyone thinks it is. And if not, Coco looks to be ten times better.
Actual Score: 66%. While far from Pixar's best, Cars 3 succeeds in being better than Cars 2 (Not a very high bar, I know) and being a surprisingly decent film with heart.

Tomatometer Guess: 82%. After the success of 2015's Straight Outta Compton, it seemed natural that Tupac Shakur would get the same treatment.
Actual Score: 24%. All Eyez on Me is, unfortunately, a disappointing, cookie-cutter biopic that doesn't fully delve into the most interesting aspects of Tupac's life. It feels like a Made-For-TV movie with a budget.

The Book of Henry (2017)
Tomatometer Guess: 70%.
Actual Score: 24%. The Book Of Henry's tonal unevenness makes it a frustrating and disappointing experience.

Tomatometer Guess: 13%. In my opinion, the Transformers movies are the cinematic equivalent of an abusive relationship. No matter how many times these movies keep hurting us, we keep coming back for more.
Even though this fifth installment looks like more of the same old same old from Michael Bay, It will still make loads of money and be the bane of every critic's existence.
Actual Score: 15%. While not quite as bad or as punishingly overlong as Age of Extinction, Transformers: The Last Knight is still muddled, overlong, sluggishly paced, and still puts the primary focus on bland annoying human characters rather than the titular robots.

Actual Score: 97%. Baby Driver may be my favorite movie of the year so far. It has spectacular action, witty fast paced dialogue, near flawless pacing, a charming love story, and an extremely creative use of its soundtrack.
I can't recommend it nearly enough!

Despicable Me 3 (2017)
Tomatometer Guess: 72%. Gru and his minions return for yet another adventure in the Despicable Me franchise.
Actual Score: 63%. Despicable Me 3 is an uneven, but entertaining entry in the series. It's fun and enjoyable but lacks much of the heart that made the first film as good as it was.
