Kamen Rider Decade
(2009)
I've only seen four episodes of his season proper (the Den-O and Hibiki episodes), but he's popped up several times in various movies/other seasons and so I'm definitely familiar with him.
However, pretty much anytime he shows up, I'm just yelling at another character that I'm more familiar with to kick his ass.

Kamen Rider Fourze
(2011 - 2012)
Fourze is the only Rider who, despite not watching any of his season proper, I can safely say that I'm familiar with him. And by that I mean that it's at that point where whenever he's on the screen, I'm just like "dammit Fourze!" every 30 seconds.
Also, if I knew him in real life, I'd be that person who just wants to mess with him by continually refusing to be his friend.

Kamen Rider Drive
(2014 - 2015)
If I had to pick one lead Kamen Rider to shove off a cliff, it would be Drive. He's just so boring and I don't care about him. Whereas every other Rider - whose season I've actually watched - is super endearing to me and I'm invested in them. Which should be the case for the lead in a show and it means they're doing it right. But Drive is the character that I'm least invested in in his own show. (That's not to say that I'm always most invested in the lead, but I'm at least invested in them.)

Kamen Rider J
(1994)
While Drive would be the one Rider I would shove off the cliff, I wouldn't mind if J just kind of got knocked off with him. His movie is just super boring and I do not care about him at all.
However, if Toei loved me, they would make a new Super Hero Taisen movie that is just him and Stag Buster from Tokumei Sentai Go-busters and call it "Super Hero Taisen J".

Birth of the 10th! Kamen Riders All Together!!
(1984)
I feel bad for him, considering not only does he not get his own season, but his "movie" is just a team-up special with V3 taking the lead. He was even a main character in the animated Kamen Rider SD and still doesn't really get anything. And then when he does get to come back, it has to be in the draining Kamen Rider Taisen movie.
But hey, at least he has the best theme song out of all of the Showa Riders.

ZO is basically Arnold Schwarzenegger's character in Terminator 2. Only without the time travel.

Kamen Rider Ex-Aid
(2016 - 2017)
Emu is one of those instances where, while I love him and his season, I don't really have a super personal attachment to him because my love is spread throughout the entire cast equally. And therefore, in the grand scheme of things, he ranks sort of low among lead protagonists.
So don't mistake his low ranking for a lack of love because that is very much not the case.

Kamen Rider Den-O
(2007 - 2008)
When I first started Den-O, I was taken aback with just how meek Ryoutarou was. I thought he was the sidekick and that Den-O would show up at the climax to save him. I didn't think that he was the actual main Rider!
Then I'm like "so he's gonna grow into this awesomely bad ass character by the end of the season, right?" However, while in some ways he did, he was still that meek character from the very first episode in a lot of others. I actually respect that more than the your standard zero to hero evolution, and like Ryoutarou a lot more because of it.

Kamen Rider Ghost
(2015 - 2016)
Ghost is the only Heisei Era season where my favorite character is the lead character. This may not be the most popular opinion, but it's how I feel.
It may be because, like Akari, my childhood best friend was also taken far too young and so I'm projecting my relationship with my cousin onto Akari's relationship with Takeru. However, it could also be that I just really like the character for some reason and I'm just making things up to justify this fact.

Kamen Rider Gaim
(2013 - 2014)
Gaim is similar to Ex-Aid in that my love for the season is greater than my love for the cast. However, while I distribute that love equally to the Ex-Aid characters, I do have preferences within Gaim.
Now Kouta is not my favorite Gaim cast member, but he is the character that I was most invested in and enjoyed following throughout the season's run. And that's really all I ask for out of a lead character.

Kamen Rider Wizard
(2012 - 2013)
Wizard is probably my most relatable Kamen Rider lead. Not so much in the writing, but more in the overall theme of the show and how the actor perceives himself while in character. I find myself re-watching clips and noticing Shunya Shiraishi making certain acting choices that sometimes seem like a reflection of myself.

Kamen Rider OOO
(2010 - 2011)
One would ask why the underwear man is so high, but after actually watching the season, OOO is actually a good character and his underwear obsession is not really a thing - except for that one time Toshiki Inoue decided to write the W crossover and messed everything up.
And also another good example of, while they may not be my favorite within their season, they are the one that I'm most invested in, making them a good choice for lead protagonist.
