I only watched this recently but fell in love with the characters, the story is moving but very funny too.

Great concept from Jim Henson ~ David Bowie as the Goblin King!! & an amazing soundtrack to boot.

"You're getting older, and you'll see that life isn't like your fairy tales. The world is a cruel place. And you'll learn that, even if it hurts."



Beautiful yet haunting at the same time.

"Hey, you guys!"



Classic kid's 80's movie - as much fun to watch today as it was back then.

"Well, Clarice - have the lambs stopped screaming?"



One of the great psychological thrillers - I've seen this so many times.

"I know what it's like to want to die. How it hurts to smile. How you try to fit in but you can't. How you hurt yourself on the outside to try to kill the thing on the inside."



Deals with a serious subject but has some funny & touching moments too.

"Our Peter knows how far he can go before I knock him to Kingdom Come. And that's just my husband Mrs. Shah."



I think this film is hilarious (..sums up the Mancunian sense of humour!), it addresses some culture clashes aswell and I love the characters.

"He's right. I'm stupid and I like it."



Recently watched due to my new obsession with 'Old Hollywood'.
Judy Holliday is adorable as the charismatic Billie Dawn, she has some great scenes with the other characters. A simple but excellent comedy.

This is such a cleverly done story. Brilliant movie.

A compelling story & the 2 main actors have great on-screen chemistry.

I think this is the ultimate chick-flick - has a great soundtrack too.

Loved the chemistry between the characters, I smiled throughout this film. A fantastic comedy/romance!

This is just one of the greatest family films ever.

I wasn't keen on this movie when I first saw it but it grew on me - the concept of an animated, dark, musical. I think it's brilliant now.

A 'first-love' story & vampire tale. Beautiful visually & story-wise.

I love Hepburn & Grant together in this film! Such a great comic duo.

I refused to watch this movie for the longest time, thinking I wouldn't like it - How wrong was I... It's absolutely brilliant!

Fantastic story with some brilliant acting, loved the filming style too.

A classic movie & lovely thoughtful story. A film that is on the annual Christmas must-watch list!

A great classic movie, I love the Ingrid Bergman and Cary Grant romance and the story is pretty excellent too.

A riveting drama and incredible performance from Meryl Streep.

Another good drama, a dark story with well-acted memorable characters ~ particularly Eva Green's 'Miss G'.

Al Pacino stars as Carlito 'Charlie' Brigante. A cool character and an entertaining crime/gangster movie.

"I'd commit any sin, mortal or otherwise, to get the hell out of here."



Based on fact, this drama tells the story of 3 "sinful" girls sent to a Magdalene Sisters Asylum in 60's Ireland.
A compelling watch from the start ~ well-made & acted, a poignant movie.

For it's time this must have started with a fairly powerful theme. Barbara Stanwyck packs a punch in the lead role.

Great casting & directing plus an engrossing well-executed story. A movie that stays with you well after it ends.

A horror classic that I seem to appreciate more each time I watch it. Still quite risky (language content) compared with modern horrors too.

This is one of those movies full of strong characters, each with their own story to tell. Beautiful film.

Another brilliant chick-flick with a great soundtrack.

Loved the soundtrack, plus the location in this movie looks stunning.

Tom Cruise plays a convincing 'bad guy' and bounces off 'good guy' Jaime Foxx in this engrossing movie.

I enjoyed the trio of characters bouncing off each other in this, the shots of a war-torn Berlin bring a lot to this movie too.

This movie draws you right into the story... & I admit I shed a tear at this!

Visually quite beautiful - interesting idea for a movie even though there are religious elements to it.

"The calla lilies are in bloom again. Such a strange flower .."



A witty movie with a sad twist at the end which probably made me like the story much more, - and another with great characters/casting.

"I think it pisses God off when you walk by the color purple in a field and don't notice it."



An epic drama, this film is just timeless.

Quirky, funny, touching, great story, excellent characters & dialogue.. and animated! A little gem of a movie.

".. It's wrong and it was eating me up, it was going to kill me. And I kept asking myself all the time, how did I buy into this shit? It was because I was pissed off, and nothing I ever did ever took that feeling away."



I found this very evocative, full of powerful scenes.

Solid story, tense drama & a fine performance from Denzel Washington.

Cool action movie - highly entertaining.

This has it all - story, ambience, visuals & soundtrack!

This has to have one of the most memorable endings of all time! Fantastic performances from the lead roles too.

This is quite a unique psychological film, very scary in parts. The storyline is chilling & the ending has a great twist to it.

Great performances & story! (Marilyn Monroe particularly stands out in her minor role too).
