Characters That Have Shattered My Emotions

You know those characters that might as well be a talking knife continuously stabbing your heart, yeah, this list goes out to those butchering fiends.
Sort by: Showing 10 items
Rating: List Type:
He can never get it right no matter how hard he tries and with him being the pretty much main character of the Supernatural TV show, you just keep on going through the motions with him, crying bitterly as something destroys his potential happiness. And when he starts one of his many speeches about how the world's gone to hell but he's gonna keep on fighting and he doesn't see a light at the end of the tunnel, you can't help but feel miniature daggers slice your insides....like...."Don't hurt, baby..."
He had demon blood in him, he doesn't believe his "pure", he's suicidal, he's lost his brother on multiple occasions! I just, you just! He was addicted to demon's blood, oh and all of the women he's ever known have died some horrible death. But this really big moose still sees hope at the end of this tunnel, and that, my friends, is why he is on the list.
Ianto Jones. Oh, Ianto Jones. A character death I was furious about and will remain to be furious about till the end of time. And even after that. Ianto Jones joined Torchwood, keeping his half-turned Cyberman girlfriend hidden within the Headquarters. When Jack kills her to save everyone after she goes supa-freaka, Ianto is crushed and it takes a few episodes for him to be okay again. But once he is, he starts to grow on you. He becomes Jack's lover and although Jack kisses like seven people that aren't him, he stays faithful. He brings a lot of comedic relief when it is desperately needed and he makes wonderful coffee. So when you grow with him and start to really love him, they radiate the shit out of him because RUSSEL T. DAVIES IS THE DEVIL! After he was killed in Children of Earth, it took me two weeks and seven kleenex boxes to finally finish the season.
Now the reason why I didn't just pick the Doctor, who in a whole, has experienced things that would keep a normal human being locked within their apartments, eating and crying themselves to death, is because the Eleventh Doctor brought a whole new level to that pain. With his innocent looks and the nostalgic imaginary friend aura about him, he brought the Doctor's pain to the surface, hidden behind his broken smiles. He showed a whole new side to the Doctor, with the Ponds, and awakened the anger in him, showcasing it in Season 7 Pt. 2. Despite being an ancient alien who has killed thousands, he felt like your best friend, so when he hurt, you hurt, and that's why he is on this list. Also dam tears!
With his hard and abusive background, you can't help but whimper. Seeing the whipping scars on his back when he is confronted by his brother, Meryl, I honesty felt as though my heart was cutting onions. He is a strong member of the Walking Dead gang, but in the moments he had to *spoiler, scroll over it if you already seen season 2* kill his brother, his tough aura crumbled and we saw him crying. It's in the small behaviors that we see Daryl's broken heart and that hurts, like a lot. Like more than a zombie nibbling on my ovary...what's left of them anyway.
Spike was a character that was forever changing. First he started off as the villian of Buffy and then the obsessor of Buffy. Despite having no soul, he was in love with her and couldn't stop himself from giving her all of him, even when it was just to use him. He went to the ends of the earth to get a soul for her, did, and lost his mind over the whole thing. Not to mention his sad backstory, where he was shamed for his poetry and had no free hours, spending them taking care of his mother, who btw was the only one who listened to his poetry with a serious heart. Joss, he is so sad, I need to hug him, let's make that happen.
Angel is a conflicted vampire with a soul, who can't experience happiness or he will lose his soul and kill all his loved ones. It's the ones with a fatal consequence that always rips my heart strings, because you really do route for him and Buffy. But having sex with her (an important and intimate part of relationships) means he experiences true happiness and his evil side, Angelus, comes out. And let me tell you, he is nasty! So this poor guy can't be happy and has to deal with blood lust, oh Joss, you are so very good at what you do. And what you do is break my heart, so congrats on that, man.
Sherlock Holmes is a guy who doesn't understand humans or emotions, but in spite of that, has grown extremely close to John Watson. And through John, Sherlock becomes more and more "human". And in this transition, we get to see a new side of Sherlock. A more fragile side, if you will. As these stories unfold, telling more of his other side, Redbeard and and the fact that he will kill a man to protect his friends, he is truly a character capable of shattering your feelings and emotions. Which he has. Multiple times.
He is a good friend to everyone around him and very lovable, but he gets the sickness his mom has and is taken over by the Nogitsune, which sucks an a whole new level. He cares about other people and the thing that really gets to you is the fact that the world doesn't really care about him that much. On a second note, the entire fandom cares a lot about Stiles so we can compensate a tad bit.
Owen Harper surprised me, he really did. He was the sex addicted asshole every TV gang should have. And I really didn't expect him to go any farther than that, but oh my god! As we got further into the series we started to see why Owen was such an asshole. He came to Torchwood after his wife supposedly had a brain tumor that actually turned out to be an alien eating her brains away, which at the time of her death is when he met Jack. He slowly began to soften as he fell in love with Diane Holmes, a girl from the 1940s who's plane went through a time rift. As you grew to sympathize with him, he was shot and killed. YEAH. AND THEN HE WAS AWOKEN BY THAT GLOVE OF AWFULNESS! He couldn't eat, he couldn't drink, he was permanently unable to do the deed (one of his favorite pass times, lol). He was tormented until he was, oh you're gonna love this, GOT RADIATED AND BURNED TO DUST LIKE I DON'T THINK SO. In short, dear readers, every TV show is going to have it's knife-characters. Which one is yours?

Also, like, if you want to be happy with fandom life, never watch Torchwood Season 3: Children of Earth.
