One of my favorite bands from the '80s. After that, not so much.
From Superior Genes's rating:
I would have to say that this is the band that really got me into music. Them and Pearl Jam. Of course, like most bands, when they got off the drugs, they went downhill.
From Superior Genes's rating:
Layne was one of my favorite singers. They were awesome.
From Superior Genes's rating:
I saw them right before they got big. Around '93 I think. I was blown away. Took a minute for me to get used to, but watching them play was amazing.
From Superior Genes's rating:
Throwing Copper is a favorite of mine. The first two albums by them were wonderful. Nothing flashy, no guitar solos, but really good writing.
From Superior Genes's rating:
Loved this band. One of the bands that defined my generation.
From Superior Genes's rating:
They opened for STP. They were really good, even if I did only know 2 of their songs.
From Superior Genes's rating:
I LOVE THIS BAND! Wonderful, wonderful guitar work! 3 of them take turns at lead singing, so all their songs sound so different.
From Superior Genes's rating:
Very different band. I liked them alot though. Of course, I was drunk.
From Superior Genes's rating:
This is one of those "guilty pleasure" bands for me. I like his song writing style alot. And sometimes I'm just in the mood for something pleasant sounding. This band has some great backing harmonies. Good backing vocals and harmonies are very hard to do and very underrated.
From Superior Genes's rating:
Saw them twice. Watching them was like going to the circus. They would switch instruments mid-song and not miss a beat. They were really, really good.
From Superior Genes's rating:
One of my first loves. To me, they were alternative before there was alternative.
From Superior Genes's rating:
They are the Grateful Dead of today. Huge, huge following, and they have never made a music video.
From Superior Genes's rating:
My band was thrown on tour with this band and the next two on my list, Train and Counting Crows. Don't care for either of these bands really, but BTE were really nice guys.
From Superior Genes's rating:
Lead singer is an ass, and alot shorter in person. He, to me, is one of the worst songwriters.
From Superior Genes's rating:
They sound absolutely horrible live. Thank god we only had to play 2 shows with them.
From Superior Genes's rating:
Hmm, love this band, but didn't like the way Maynard sung behind a curtain type thing. Sounded great though.
From Superior Genes's rating:
Ok, was not a fan when I went, but I left one. They put on a great show. I was really impressed. I get it now.
From Superior Genes's rating:
One of the few newer bands I like. Love the vocals and lyrics, and they have a hell of a drummer.
From Superior Genes's rating:
Seen them 3 times. I really like this group. You'll see alot of bands on here that are considered harder, but most of them are more mid-range, which is what I like.
From Superior Genes's rating:
Don't know alot of their stuff, but they were great live. Very pleasantly surprised.
From Superior Genes's rating:
Love this band, but they don't sound very good live. Also, they would be really, really good if they got a new drummer.
From Superior Genes's rating:
It was like listening to a new version of Guns' N' Roses. I mean that in a good way. They rocked and she could wail.
From Superior Genes's rating:
Nope, never again. Can't stand this band. Redneck rock.
From Superior Genes's rating:
Punk band, and the only punk band I like is Social Distortion. Until now. I loved them. They didn't sound like every other punk band and they had amazing melodies.
From Superior Genes's rating:
They were good. Didn't know a whole lot about them before I went, but they left me wanting to know more.
From Superior Genes's rating:
Ok, so I've tried to put these in order from the earliest to the most recent. Keep in mind, some shows DO NOT reflect my taste in music. Sometimes you just gotta go because of a woman.
