Old Friends from Young Years is the debut album by Californian rock band Papa Roach, self-produced and released on February 4, 1997. This album, along with their other independent demos, were released on the band's now defunct indie label, Onion Hardcore, so named because onion farming is a staple of Papa Roach's hometown, Vacaville, California. The album was co-produced by bass guitarist Tobin Esperance's father, who included an audio recording of Tobin as a child as a bonus track on the album.
Infest is the second album by Californian rock band Papa Roach. It was released on April 25, 2000, and became the 20th highest selling album of 2000 in the United States. It was certified triple Platinum in the U.S. on July 18, 2001, and peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200 chart. This album earned the band a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. Infest has sold more than 7 million copies worldwide with 3 million in U.S. and is their best selling album to date. "Thrown Away" contains a softer version of the song "Tightrope", which starts at about 4:57.
Lovehatetragedy is the third album by Californian rock band Papa Roach. It was released on June 18, 2002. A re-recorded version of the song "M-80 (Explosive Energy Movement)" was featured in the game Amplitude.
The album did not sell as well as its 2000 predecessor, Infest, selling more than 700,000 units, achieving gold certification in the U.S. It was certified Gold in Canada and in the UK, and has sold over 1,000,000 copies worldwide. It peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200.

The song "Blood (Empty Promises)" was featured on the Saw II soundtrack and the song "Getting Away with Murder" was featured in the end credits of The Chronicles of Riddick and in the intro to the third person shooter game Mechassault 2: Lone Wolf. The song Not Listening was used in the trailer for Resident Evil: Apocalypse.

The Paramour Sessions is the fifth album by Californian rock band Papa Roach. It was released on September 12, 2006. While pre-recording, the band rented the Paramour Mansion, which the album name reflects. Two singles were released from the album, "...To Be Loved" and "Forever". The deluxe edition of the album was released on July 5, 2007. This album was the last the band recorded with drummer Dave Buckner.
The album debuted at #16 on the Billboard 200 Chart with 37,000 copies sold in its first week of release. The album has sold over 1.6 million copies worldwide by selling small amounts of copies in many countries like the U.S., Canada, and the UK. Because of this, the album has failed to be certified in any country. The album has sold over 450, 000 copies in the USA as of 2010.
Metamorphosis is the sixth album by California rock band Papa Roach. It was released by DGC/Interscope on March 24, 2009. The album was originally planned to be titled Days of War, Nights of Love, which is a lyrical quote from the song "No More Secrets" on the band's previous album, The Paramour Sessions. Subsequently, two songs on the album are titled "Days of War" and "Nights of Love". This is their first album to feature Tony Palermo on drums, after the departure of Dave Buckner.
On May 17, 2008, Papa Roach performed two new songs at the Nashville, Tennessee Crawfish Boil, "Hanging On" and "Change or Die". "Hanging On" was later renamed to "Lifeline" after Jacoby Shaddix decided to change the chorus lyrics. A third song from the album was performed on July 1 in West Palm Beach, Florida at the Cruzan Amphitheater, titled "I Almost Told You That I Loved You". It was then that vocalist Jacoby Shaddix announced the album's planned release date of August 26. However, Shaddix later mentioned the album's release date had been pushed to March 2009 on Pulse Radio, citing, "We want a new fresh year, a great start."
Mötley Crüe lead guitarist Mick Mars played the guitar solo on the track "Into the Light".
