“Had time to kill, so I put this movie on in the background, drawn in by the fact that I am an avid Tom Clancy fan. Sadly, this movie stayed in the background - as noise while I got on with other tasks. At no stage did it do enough to cause me to pay any attention to it. Despite the author's name being included in the title of the movie, there was no need to do so as there is no palpable link between the storyline and the book, and any characters that have a link to the novel are "the niece of..." and are similarly removed from any connection. Perhaps this was the movie's saving grace, that apart from the title, it makes no claims to being faithful to the original book.
(PS. I have similar problems with the Jack Ryan series also produced by Amazon.)” read more

" 2021 Director: Steffano Sollima His 4th movie My 1st movie watched from the director I think Michael B Jordan is a very good actor and has been great at picking projects - but this one is not one of them. Poor direction, terrible editing, and an unoriginal storyline/ending makes for a tough movie to watch. For most of the movie, it actually felt like a video game. Not that that's a bad thing for those gamers, but lets leave this style for that medium. __________ Location: Murmansk, Ru"

" Amazon Prime- 1hr. 49min. First Viewing Oof. I'm not sure what, exactly, was the thinking behind this. You've got an okay setup for a spy thriller (discounting the wild disconnect between the source material), a compelling and charismatic lead actor, and carte blanche to start a new franchise. Somehow, Without Remorse fucks up all of these ingredients. The story is handled bluntly, without tact, creativity or humanity, the lead's charisma is snuffed out, leaving no character to empathize with, "

"An interesting combination of the geopolitical sensibilities of a Tom Clancy book and the more individually minded thoughts on war from Sheridan and Sollima. The whole is successfully stripped of some of the inherent patriotism when adapting a Clancy-book by this angle and it makes for a more palatable film. "
