" Director: Jason Bateman His 2nd Movie My 2nd movie watched from the director. Bateman's second directorial effort is not as fun and entertaining as "Bad Words" but is certainly proof he isn't a one and done kind of actor-turned-director. The concept is great, the performances are solid even if the overall execution isn't anything special. Added to Lists: Top Ten Performances - Jason Bateman Chris Walken is the best supporting actor of all time? __________ Location: New York"

" DVD- 1hr. 46min. First Viewing While it is pretty original, The Family Fang's plot grows tedious and eventual succumbs to its ambition. The cast however, keeps things interesting despite it. Kidman and Bateman are terrific in their roles, carrying the film with a lived in quality. Bateman, behind the camera, is able to maintain the film's odd tone (its not quite comedy, but not really drama), though, as mentioned, can't quite overcome the script. "
"When: June 24th First-Time Viewing: Yes. How: DVD from the library. What'd I Think?: Dry, melancholy comedy, is predictable, but unique and well written. My Rating: 8/10 Other Notes: NA."
