" "While you may have eternal life, your loved ones, they do not." Directed by Guillermo del Toro and Mark Gustafson Written by Guillermo del Toro, Patrick McHale and Matthew Robbins Music by Alexandre Desplat Cinematography by Frank Passingham Editing by Holly Klein and Ken Schretzmann"
“(Nx) Del Toro llegó tarde a Collodi.

A darker version of the classic children's fairy tale of a wooden puppet that transforms into a real living boy. My two cents: To be honest, after the really useless live-action version released by Disney this year, I can’t say I was really dying to see again another version of this famous tale, especially so soon. “To be honest, after the really useless live-action version released by Disney this year, I can’t say I was really dying to see again another version of this famous tale, especially so soon. However, a new movie directed by Guillermo Del Toro is always a big event, especially when it is a passion project like this one on which he has been working for more than 10 years. Well, first of all, there is no doubt that the damned thing was visually really neat and if you’re into stop-motion, this flick is definitely a must-see. Concerning the story itself, it was pretty cool that they did extend the introduction and displayed in the process the relationship between Geppetto and his deceased son, Carlo. They also combined some elements from Frankenstein’s story. As a result, Geppetto actually” read more

Es senc” read more
"Really cool! Animation is insane, Waltz was great and the character design was awesome. It was hard to focus tho, like, who did Geppeto fuck at that age? And did he needed some "medical" help? And if so, did he carved a wooden dildo to keep her entertain? So many questions!"
"11.12. I love the artistry and the character designs of this film, but the flawed story and narrative ruins it for me."
A great retelling (and not a remake!)
“From the get go, this movie had everything going for it. Guillermo del Toro knows how to make a good film, and this was definitely no exception. Now I'm a fan of the 1954 Pinocchio, and I'll say right off the bat that this is not a remake! Don't be foolish and think that, because this is an adaptation of the book more than anything. This movie took some creative liberties, some really good creative liberties, in fact. The movie is set during World War II, in an Italy under Mussolini. War plays a huge role in this film, and I think Del Toro did a good job of taking the basic ideas from the original story, and expanding on them. For example, a certain island setting from the original story is not present in this film, but in its place is a genius substitute that serves practically the same k” read more
