"My biggest gripe with "It" is that Muschietti showcases his fantastical monsters with the same methods as he does a .5 second New Kids on the Block -gag. If the movie had scared me once - and I mean that literally - I would be willing to forgive so much more. It's made like a movie intended to go at 110% in regards to the scares but struggles to reach 40 with the way they're shot. I can see why everyone loves the projector scene - it's the one scare with a visual twist and not entirely shot cent"
" Directed by: Andy Muschietti ('Mama') With: Bill Skarsgård Was the original - It (1990) - worth a look? Even though the directing and acting were nothing really amazing, it was still a fascinating story. Indeed, usually, I have a hard time to care about Stephen King's fantastic and horror stories, but this was absolutely a great story, easily one of King's best, and I might even consider reading the book at some point. And, of course, Tim Curry was just downright impressive and he delive"
"Some subplots feel pointless, but this horror film is smart, filled with likable main characters, and has some legitimately scary moments. 8.5/10"
"Face your fears. Only when you confront them, you will conquer them."
"17th of September, Theater Tämä oli totta puhuen vasta ensimmäinen teatterissa näkemäni kauhuelokuva. Ja vedenpitävä todiste siitä, miten kauhuelokuvat on luotu katsottaviksi elokuvateatterissa isolta valkokankaalta, sillä en olisi jokunen kuukausi eteenpäin varmasti syttynyt tästä näin paljon kotiruudulta katsottuna. Tämä uudelleenfilmatisointi ei ole todellakaan mikään turha räpellys, vaan täysin onnistunut kasvojenkohotus alkuperäisestä. Siinä missä alkuperäinen minis"
"I liked the movie really much but I didn't find it scary... and the awful CGI really ruined my enjoyment also. Everything else was great so rating this is hard. Bill Skarsgård was great as Pennywise. And so were the kids of the loser's club."
“To be incredibly pithy, you can call this Stand By IT or Nightmare on Goonies Street and find yourself in the neighborhood of what this movie is. I do not mean either of those descriptions as negatives, far from it. I thoroughly enjoyed and found its insistence on placing its tonal and emotional emphasis much harder on the ways childhood is made up of scars that last with us into the future and not on the scares was smart. One of the most enjoyable things about this film is how the ensemble of young actors, uniformly strong and tasked with some tricky material to play, makes us believe in their friendship, root and care for them as a both a group and individuals. Any adaptation of IT lives or dies on its ability to make us invest emotional with these kids, and any weak-link would cau” read more
"2017/09/08 @Goodrich Kalamazoo 10 - theater 10, row 5 Via MoviePass So, the clown is creepy, and there are some scenes that are intense, but I never really felt it was that scary. It also suffered from the typical horror movie problem of wondering why the behavior of the monster changes. Obviously, the easy answer is because the script calls for it, but it lacks in in-story explanation. Same to be said for the kids deciding that they need to stick together, and then, almost seemingly on purpo"
