I wanted to really like this movie but the cross between live acting and computer animation didn't work for me. The animation seemed very cheap at times, for the human/ alien figures mostly. The idea of the story was pretty cool and I only wanted to watch it because I'm a fan of egyptian lore. This review just cost me a nice glass of Bacardi and Lime. Cost isn't the right word. Simply because, this is a great movie. For a start, the CGI and Live players mix so well. The music invokes your thought patterns as much as the story. This guy Enki Bilal has directed 3 movies (according to another respected website) and I really con't wait to see them. This is a five star movie for real

I already saw this movie but since it was such a long time ago and since I had it on DVD, I was quite eager to check it out again. First of all, I have always been a huge fan of the Nikopol trilogy so this movie was pretty much a must-see for me but I strongly advise to read the comic-books first to have a better grip on the story which can be pretty challenging. “I already saw this movie but since it was such a long time ago and since I had it on DVD, I was quite eager to check it out again. First of all, I have always been a huge fan of the Nikopol trilogy so this movie was pretty much a must-see for me but I strongly advise to read the comic-books first to have a better grip on the story which can be pretty challenging. Concerning the visuals, even though they were quite amazing when I first saw this movie about 10 years ago, I have to admit that they didn't grow old very well. Furthermore, I think it was a mistake to have only a handful of characters played by some real actors and the rest CGI animated.
