A little girl named Amy, whose deceased mother had a nervous breakdown from thinking she was a cat creature, is having imaginary friends and difficulty adjusting. This worries her father, stepmother, and school teacher. The girl makes real friends with an eccentric old woman until the old woman's daughter becomes dangerously jealous. Amy's mother's ghost must intervene to protect her.
