Django (1966)

The gist of it: Gruesome, ruthless, surprising, dark. It's easy to understand why Tarantino loved this spaghetti western, which by the way has a message against racism. The international cast was dubbed in Italian in the original production: even Italian lead actor Franco Nero was dubbed by another Italian actor, Nando Gazzolo.
The good: Cult movie. Some great spaghetti western moments
The bad: Sergio Corbucci is not Sergio Leone and Franco Nero is not Clint Eastwood. Some parts are dull and the anti-racist "message" is wordy.
Language: Italian

The good: Somewhat informative, brilliant and moving at moments.
The bad: Heavily biased. Moore's documentaries don't tell lies, but he only tells one side of the story. European health care is not heaven either.

Sliding Doors (1998)

The gist of it: A romantic comedies that unfolds in two parallel universes.

Language: British English

The Cake Eaters (2009)

August 2013 [C1]
The O.P.'s rating:

The gist of it: Two old pals--bank robbers--are released on parole after having spent 30 years in jail. Despite their age, they can still kick ass! Building a new life away from crime is not easy, though, and inmates' rehabilitation programs don't seem to help. Sour-sweet comedy about the elderly that relies heavily on the charm of the two old lions, Douglas and Lancasters.
The good: It's a pleasure watching Kirk and Burt on screen together, aged but still fierce.
The bad: The script is childish at times.
Language: American

The O.P.'s rating:

Robotropolis (2011)

The gist of it: Underrated independent horror science-fiction about robots going berserk! Like a zombie apocalypse, but with machines.
The good: Suspense hooked me in at start. Clever idea: action shown as a TV live report, just like it would have been shown had it happened for real. And I must say that, especially in the first part, it felt very real.
The bad: Too bad it loses speed along the way. Doesn't keep up to the promises. At times you can notice it's a low-budget production.
Language: English, mostly American

Language: Italian and some English

The good: Enjoyable mystery about a research fellow at the Arab-Anglo Institute in London who becomes a high-class escort. Caine and Weaver in old England. Eighties but feels Seventies. Sigurney plays an intriguing character: an intelligent, emancipated woman in a men's world. Brains and body, she has both, but will it suffice? Nice touch, the Palestinian (?) movie buff.
The bad: Story not compelling as it should be. What happens on screen is not entirely convincing and believable, at times.
